Have started Ann Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho and it is already so much better than Otranto.

Finished The Castle of Otranto and it continued to not be very good (sexism and too many different types of drama squished into too short of a story), but I read a bit about Horace Walpole and it sounds like he had peak Weird Little Guy energy.

My new job allows me to be on the internet a little when it is quiet so I am now committed to reading classic Gothic literature this fall. Halfway through Walpole's The Castle of Otranto and it is...not good. But it is short.

The vibe sure is... interesting on here tonight.
