The Sycamore Gap Tree had a 'cameo' in 28 Years Later. It was recreated using CGI to show both the alternate timeline in the movie and as a tribute. Can't decide how I feel about this, but shows that even in death, the tree is abstracted from nature.

Luke and I wrote a paper! Two years ago, the Sycamore Gap Tree was cut down in the dead of night. Responses to this "act of vandalism" made us think about the role of nature in ontic space, and dualism between human and non/human allows for destruction of nature.
