Wifey got me Jelly Gouache for Christmas, so I cracked them out and spent my morning testing them. Really liking how they layer and the vibrancy.

I am finally! Able to show these. This was my Christmas present to wifey, her favourite mario characters being the Boo ghosts. So I hand made her polymer clay figures of a Boo Ghost and her Chain Chompy Bois. I tried to buy the chains, but gave up and made those by hand as well.

Finished this piece for Sage/Dargon. Really pleased with how this turned out, having to take some time to study different techniques to get it looking just right. I'm honstely way behind on my work practicing backgrounds, but I find at least taking my time with them and putting effort in works well.

Sunday morning art warm up with Acrylic painting in my sketchbook. I used Archival Ink brush pens for the final line work and I'm a convert, they go over the paint so smoothly. I've been struggling with doing black lines in acrylics all year.

And another of my Wing Flap animations for Nelly. I really like doing these, and this would also be the third time I have tweaked this animation while working on it to improve the animation. I have a really bad habit of doing this, taking older animations and constantly improving them.

Wifey's Mynnie returns, this time as Big Chonkus. This is a sticker to go on the front of her new beefy laptop which is a big heavy boi. I took majority inspiration from the Final Fantasy classic Fat Chocobo.

Continuing my goal to make more emotes for myself I got this pair finished. Replacing my very old peek emote that looked so wonky.

I loved doing this winter emote for the Emote Club. It just looks so cosy and I got them all done in the first week of December so they had plenty of time to use it over the next few months.

As I have now caught up in my art summaries, I can now just post regular art updates and summaries at the end of each month.

One oddity of this year is that I was so busy with commissions I hadn't done any new art of my OC's. So I've been taking the time to update all my old emotes. I had been using @stupidshepherd.bsky.social blep base for years and finally took the time to reimagine it in my artstyle.

In November the Emote Club requested a partner emote to the collar one I did in May. They wanted somebody holding the other end of the leash, kind of kicking myself I didn't plan the leash in advance. The leashes don't quite line up, so I have to go back and redo the collar emotes at some point.

I mostly focused on completing the emotes for the club in November. I distracted myself more with making decorations for my friends wedding.

November would be a very sparse month of art for me, because two weeks after the passing of Toastie Bun. Her bonded partner Cinnamon Bun also passed away. He was our first rabbit and we know no other bun could replace him for us or our last rabbit Sweetie Bun.

While I was struggling with drawing through the grief my good friend Lilac did this beautiful painting of Toastie as a Jackalope for me. Her art does not get enough love with what wonderful work she does. braingones.carrd.co

The end of November hit very hard for our family. We had house rabbits, a trio of bonded rabbits who were sweet and full of character. One evening Toastie Bun fell ill, I was caring for her, on the phone to the vets getting advice when she died in my arms. I have this sketch of her done halfway.

This emote caused a lot of mirth between me and Klicki. The bug eyed version was my first attempt, I sent it as a joke before the final version, and Klicki loved it and requested I complete both.

I'm a sucker for a good OC design. I'd made this sketch as warm up for @icyeclipse.bsky.social while I was working on her animation. I ended up flicking back through my sketchbook for something to draw digitally and saw the sketch. Sometimes drawings can't remain sketches, they have to be finished.

I really like this hug emote. I was glad Vinum gave me the prompt to do a more full body sticker design.

Ravyn made the very sensible choice to give me full freedom to draw them however I wanted. He said he trusted me. ... Teehee

October art summary. Alot more emote work this month as I worked through my backlog and picked up more commissions.

This very quick sketch page I made for Wifey in regards to her benign brain tumour. Kind of caught off guard this year when she got the diagnosis while getting scans for something else. Wifey as always took it in her stride, and wanted the tumour represented as this dumb bunny slug.

And I got to play even more with Gold effects with Vinum who requested this lovely pair of emotes. I love doing gold effect, you can add so much highlight to a character with those details.

Emotes for Felix the Bunny. I really liked their character design, I might have filled my sketchpage with practice doodles of them.

And Kaylare came in again to let me do another tail animation. This one together we tweaked the frames to give it more of a swish.

I followed that up with this tail animation for Sai. It took alot of variations before I found a version that had that smooth fluid look.

And @anchanup.bsky.social spoiling me further by letting me play around with more animation work.

Getting to make emotes for @anchanup.bsky.social & @psychecyclops.art was an exciting time.

To September we arrive! An exciting month, from several new animations, to getting the opportunity to draw artists I had been following for years.

A set of peeking emotes I did for my Emote Club. This one was simple and cute to do.

This is a remake of a drawing I made for a friend two years ago. They love Koffing and a big MTG fan, so I used the poison token from MTG as the logo and background. I also used glow in the dark paint on the poison logos, so my friend should be surprised the first time she looks at it during night.

The eevee I painted with acrylic on a Canvas sketch pad. I'm going to be honest, I don't like working on canvas, too much texture moves my pencil work outside of my intent. And I'm not that good enough with a brush to do acceptable lines with it. Also why is his mouth so tiny, look at it!

And we reach August where I ended up spending a lot of time painting in a field. I count that as holiday, camping and painting.

And the continuing animation work, this time for Sai and her Snow Leopard OC. This piece actually contributed to me paying for my new animation software that meant I could extend the length and complexity of my animated stickers.

In my continuing adventures with Acrylic paints, I found Glow in the Dark Acrylic. I used this umbreon painting to work out how effective the paint would be used over yellows and whites. Honestly I think I could have done a much thinner subtle outline for the umbreon. But overall I loved this.

And for those who love a good timelapse. I sketch all my designs traditionally on paper before scanning them, then I refine them in a digital sketch. Then you see the rest of my process in the video.

I started of July by studying the Japanese Kemono style of furries. I quite like how the face shapes are less "mascot like" compared to western designs, and you see that change evolve in my style over this year. Here I wanted to experiment with a Jackalope. Wifey immediately stole her for her own.

July was a little quieter on this side of my artwork, although I was still playing with Acrylics and animations.

Now hanging up in my hallway as a set. I grew up with the original Blue, Red and Yellow. Although I will always hold Gold as my favourite I'm the series. Sadly I lost interest in the mainline series before the 3DS games came out.

And my big project of June. Each one drawn and painted on Canvas to be Triptych for our front hallway. Each one was painted over a week in acrylics. The bulbasaur my own design, the squirtle based off one of the classic cards, and the charmander was inspired by another artists drawing.

Another animated emote for Iklicki. This one was the last one I made in Clip Studio Paints basic animation suite before I realised I needed a more dedicated animation software.

Odd selection of emotes that were also picked up during June. The OC on the far left is a Gargoyle for Juniper. That one gave me a lot of trouble trying to fit into a chibi aesthetic.

My clients voted on a set of Pride emotes in June which seemed appropriate.

June, what a month. I got taken over by a fascination with Acrylic painting that's still going strong.

And my Collar Days picture. XD I remember finishing these emotes for my clients, and boyfriend looked over my shoulder and said "those look like that Gorillaz album". I couldn't help myself, I cobbled together this mock up of a Collar Days album cover. This one makes me smile each time I see it.

The NonaMuffin. A client requested their friend drawn as a muffin, apparently I hope Oddworld on the brain very strongly in May. Because I based the picture design on RuptureFarms food advert posters. That game had some amazing artwork behind it.

Part of my happy wiggle animation set. Some clients had ears, others didn't but did have wings. So I compromised on making independent animations based on their anatomy.

A Raventaur quick sketch which turned into one of favourite practice exercises. This is based on #oddworld Steef design for the Stranger. This is straight up study of one of his portraits from the game art. I love the body proportions that was used for this taur style and want to play with it more
