Notice as well that the media informs all their viewpoints from Republican talking points. There’s been very little coverage of Ken Paxton’s criminality, unethical conduct, and adultery. Instead, there’s a weeks-long discussion of James Talarico meeting Paxton’s definition of “manliness.”

Barack Obama ran the tightest ship imaginable, both personally and professionally, which is why we had a weeks long media freak out about spicy Dijon mustard and wearing a tan suit in August.

The Graham Platner thing goes to show that the media knows how to make something a scandal when they want to, it’s just that nothing a Republican does reaches that level in their minds, and everything beyond absolute perfection from Democrats does.

The correct approach here, of course, is to say “Mr. President, you and I both work on behalf of the American people so please answer my question and never speak to me like that again.” Gold star to the first reporter who does.

Karen Bass gives off huge Dan McKee vibes. Someone who had decent success in a smaller pond that is out of their league in their current pond, is there by happenstance, and who’ll get shellacked in November by a member of their own party.

Recent polling shows Americans blame Trump for high prices. Perfect story for Talarico to use to rebut the stupid vegan commentary. “I’ve been eating TX BBQ since before Paxton’s first indictment, and now Tax BBQ joints we love have to close b/c Trump and Paxton’s corruption has raised prices.”

Another perfect encapsulation of Murc’s Law. Republicans can write off whole swaths of urban America, call for violence against them, and call them “scum” and “vermin.” Not a peep from the press. OTOH, the press has issues with Democrats CRITIQUING REPUBLICAN POLICIES!

It is absolutely good and preferable that Democrats hold their own to account for bad conduct, but notice how the media only frames Democrats as having “reckoning.” Republicans also had a member resign in scandal but no “reckoning” is ever required of that party.

Who could have seen this coming in the quintessential large lot New England suburb?

I always love that “freedom and consumer choice” in America is always code for “stringent regulation aimed at placating a special interest group means that you only get one choice.” This can explain why there’s not a plethora of AWD wagons and small condo buildings for me to choose from.
