I learned today that my nephew's girlfriend was at the Kirk event. She is such a sweet girl. I met her over the summer. Violence is just the world our kids live in these days. I can't imagine the trauma.

A great group of people at the King William Democrats picnic on Saturday.

The Democratic Party used to be the party of working class people. It's become a party of corporate interests and over educated elites. After Carter, Mondale and Dukakis got blitzed, we became timid to flex our working class roots. We can't win VA01 with a candidate who takes corporate money.

Speaking today at King William Dems. It was great to see so many people come out on a Saturday. Everyone wants to see Wittman go home to Montrose. (Sorry about the moving camera, my daughter was the camera operator!)

More news on the farm front. I spent a good portion of my career working with farmers. They are tough and resilient but also suffer the most from bad federal policy.

Farmers are getting killed by this administration's ag policy. Rob Wittman has said nothing about how Virginia farmers are suffering.

Gen X and pop culture has a place in politics. This is the world I was raised in - Star Wars, punk rock and social protests. He's an amazing voice right now. It's building a coalition to gain power. It's not about winning.

What the hell. The whole point of the creation of the Fed was to insulate it from politics. Andrew Jackson destroyed the Second Bank of the US and set off a major panic. Wilson knew the fed had to be a separate entity. What Vance says goes against a century of history.
