Today we read ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and had to work as a team to build a trap for the gingerbread man. Our traps had to hold the gingerbread man, stay standing and have no gaps he could espace from. With the help of some P7s our traps were ready for testing 🧱 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

This week we have been exploring doubles! Today we had fun painting and stamping numicon to make double number sentences. We counted them up to solve each double 🧮 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

P2 explored ‘Mixed: A Colourful Story’ by Arree Chung to discover how colours mix into secondary and tertiary shades 🎨 We then linked colours to our feelings, giving our mixed colour spots their own emotions. 💛💙❤️ → 💚🧡💜 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

Next, P2 moved on to number lines! We rolled one dice for our starting number and another to see how much to add 🎲 Then we jumped along the number line to find the total! While waiting our turn, we wrote the matching number sentences.➕ @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

In P2 we’ve been busy developing our addition strategies! We started by using concrete materials to count and combine groups of numbers. 🧮 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

This week, P2 have been revising numbers to 20. We built number towers, using 1:1 correspondence to ensure each block was counted carefully. We loved challenging ourselves to build higher and higher while strengthening our counting skills! 👷🔢 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

We created our Class Charter, by exploring the rights of a child and discussing how to make our classroom a safe, respectful and happy place to grow and learn 💫 As a symbol of our promise, we’ll be looking after a plant- nurturing it as it grows and develops alongside us this year 🌱🪴🌺

Right Angle Hunting 🔍 Whilst exploring angles, P3 went on a hunt to find as many right angles as they could in their table maze! To help us we used the corner of a piece of paper as a perfect 90 degree angle 📐 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

P3 have been developing our understanding of fractions. This week we learned how to find a fraction of an amount! We used play dough as a pizza base and shared out the toppings equally to solve the problem 🍕 @bonnybridgeps.bsky.social

Cherry Blossom Pointillism 🖌️ After observing cherry blossom trees, P3 painted their own version and used the pointillism technique for the beautiful blossoms 🌸
