Great to join the Byker Community Safety Action Day on Shields Road. EPiC & Northumbria Police are at Hadrian Square until 3pm - drop by to raise concerns and share ideas. With a new policing hub opening at East End Library, it’s a step towards safer streets.

All change on the 18 from Walker to Quorum via Byker. From 22/03, Northstar take over from Stagecoach. I’ve contacted Nexus to raise questions about communication to commuters. There’s a 4-week grace period for travel passes, but this clearly raises more questions for those on annual passes.

Whilst it’s long been clear that only the @greenparty.org.uk can beat Labour and Reform in Byker, it’s fast becoming clear it’s true nearly everywhere!

One of the beautiful things about #GortonandDenton campaigning was meeting members from across the country, most of who joined since @zackpolanski.bsky.social was elected. What I found? People full of joy, love and hope who want an inclusive politics. Attempts to misrepresent us won’t work.

Good to see @zackpolanski.bsky.social asked about this. He’s right on this, of course. So much of my time (and camera roll) is taken up by reporting flytipping. It is a symptom of an ill society, and we need long-term thinking and a real commitment to reducing waste & increasing recycling.

Of course it’s possible and Green councillors in local authority administration in councils across the country are proving that everyday.

Interesting to hear Gateshead’s council leader be even more critical of the Labour government’s local authority funding model than Newcastle’s council leader on #BBCPoliticsNorth today. Absolutely right. So vote Green in May, and let Labour know we won’t put up with it.
