It’s very clear it’s time for the EU to consolidate our defences. Also, Starmer’s visit yesterday looking even more poorly timed and toned. The EU is right next door - easy win to boost defence and the economy = single market & defence pact.

Hot take - it was smart of Ukraine to sign this minerals deal. Mineral resources like the ones in Ukraine will take years, if not a decade to develop, By the time the mines are live, the US could well have a new regime, and in the meanwhile has stumped up money Ukraine doesn’t have.
