My 7th grade students had two full class periods and then at least some time in class for five more days to do a project that’s being scored as a test grade. In my 4th period of 30 kids, 14 didn’t do it at all and 5 did not follow any of the directions. Four got full points.

There’s definitely a language barrier at play here but sir, no, find a gas station with cameras that you can walk to and then we’ll talk.

One of my classes was so wild today that I literally texted the counselor and told her it was a shitshow, and the seasoned para who was with me told the same counselor she didn’t even have words for how bad it was. And tomorrow’s not even Friday yet. (At least the worst kid is getting moved.)

Just bought tickets to the 40th anniversary screening of Back to the Future on Halloween night for me and my husband and the 12yo, who gave up trick-or-treating a few years ago. I’m excited!
