STEP 1 - GENOMICS Every discovery starts with DNA! We use cutting-edge sequencing techniques to decode the genetic potential of marine microbes. By analyzing their genomes, we can identify clusters of genes (BGCs) responsible for producing valuable bioactive compounds!

🆕 Scientists discovered a molecule in a sea sponge: Halichondrin B ⏩After years of testing, they created a synthetic version: eribulin mesylate. ⏩This led to Halaven, a drug that targets cancer cells. 🔛Today, the treatment offers hope to metastatic breast cancer patients.
