Hello #chemsky, if you were leading an interdisciplinary center and wanted to get #authorship off on the right track, what would be some good topics for discussion between #STEM discipline academics? Is the #CRediT framework (or similar) adequate?

At a workshop (ice at the microscale) in Switzerland. My kid is ambivalent about the view, but is offended by the lack of things to do in the hotel room. (Not clear what she expects in that regard.)

Looks like I'll probably be allowed into England after all! It just involves money, a visit to the British consulate in Croatia, and correctly deciphering the instructions on a baffling government form.

Was planning on travelling to England this summer. But as a dual citizen I'm not eligible for their ETA (new visa rules), and there's probably no time to renew my existing passport. So... no England for me? (Wonder how long it takes to renounce citizenship...)

Back when I was choosing grad programs in 2000, I ruled out a group that had an important instrument that had a computer that could only use 5.25" floppy disks. This week I learned a key instrument in my lab depends on a computer that is still running Windows 7. Physical chemist, heal thyself!

NASEM, you have the opportunity to show leadership during these times and speak up for science and for Americans. I understand the political pressures but you're the creme de la creme of American excellence. What are we doing here.

If the words didn't matter, they wouldn't be trying to stop us writing them. If the pictures didn't matter, they wouldn't be taking them down. If the ideas didn't matter, they wouldn't be trying to stop funding. All of this matters for who we are and we should not remove things in anticipation.
