Word for 2026 is “Refining”. In terms of goals, I would really like to finish my WIP, and get a solid lead on another so that I have a nice publishing buffer. So I guess I will be refining my process, my writing, and priorities #kidlitchat

It's so interesting to me how readers have latched onto the cozy of What the Sea Brings. I'm thrilled by it! Yet my memory of writing that book is so profoundly linked with grief, the weight of the pandemic, and how difficult it was to stay so close to these characters in their hardship.

It's annoying that whenever I want to use an em dash I hesitate because of all the people latching onto that as a sign of AI. I'm sure there are instances where it is a sign but these em dashes are MINE! Intentional! and I *just* figured out how to type then properly!!!

So much of revision (for me) is simply untangling plot threads, writing them down by hand in a journal to keep them organized in my brain and then never looking at the notebook again
