Speaking of universities, the Oz has published an attack on a second law lecturer based on a leak of a recorded lecture. Policy prohibits sharing lecture recordings. For 20yrs I’ve warned of vulnerability for staff & students of recording class. It’s now become a reality that Uni’s must address.

NOPSEMA has given approval to Santos' $5bn Barossa gas project off Australia's remote northern cost. With CO2 average about 16% in the gas deposit, the project has been referred to as a "carbon factory" and a "carbon bomb" by critics.

Today drilling for gas under the Barossa project off the coast of Darwin was approved. That's 274mil tones of emissions from one of the dirtiest gas projects in the 🌏 More than 100x emissions from the 🇦🇺 electricity system. Our approvals system is broken. We need urgent reform.

After 4 weeks of articles dressed up as defence of legal education, it’s clear that The Oz is on a bad faith campaign of harassment of individual law lecturers including scurrilous innuendo and tacit encouragement of a mob attack. I stand with these academics.
