My parents are coming to visit this week for my wife’s birthday. So we get to clean and tidy the house as much as is feasible in the middle of renaissance faire season. When I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday, she said “to not have your parents visit.” 😬

My water heater just started leaking, but I wasn’t worried because we pay for homeowners insurance, in case, you know, the water heater starts leaking. The insurance co is paying for the new water heater, but also charging $1,700 for not-covered additions. So is homeowners insurance just a scam?
