oh no. i'm trying to play the yakuza kiwami 3 demo but i've been playing so much monster hunter g lately that i'm not used to playing a game with a normal control scheme. i tried using the d-pad to look around and got confused when it didn't work, and using the right stick feels weird now..

any description of khezu in monster hunter is so funny.. every account of him is just like "this guy sucks. he's stinky and slimy. can't imagine being a khezu is anything but miserable. ugly grey wyvern. ew."

i wonder how you make player models in block-building games that aren't totally uncanny.. i think minecraft and staxel manage to not be, and as much as i love vintage story and hear good things about hytale both of those games have pretty unappealing character models...

i hunted monoblos last night, which is sorta the final boss of the village quests! i like how after fighting a bunch of wyverns who are weird in their own ways, monoblos is just a brawl between you and this huge horned wyvern. no fireballs or debuffs or flying in the air constantly, just melee..

also a really big fan of the like.. semi-mmo format..? like when the game is not one where you go into a field area and find dozens of players, but you can go to lobbies to trade and talk with others and party up and then go into quests with a few others. and maybe there's leaderboards or something.

honestly so sad about how many people seem afraid of like.. jank, and old games, and games that have a big learning curve because they're from a time when some things weren't fully figured out? early monster hunter games are a really big example of this, people insist you should never play them...
