The conceptual, visual language of the image of the poem sets out to achieve what the individual wants, needs, desires. What does the poet believe? Truth will always be on the side of the poet. The poet is midwife. Life, reality, can be poison. Poetry ennervates, renews, enforces law. We're enough.

Dreams and ambition come with limitations. We are weak, imperfect selfish creatures. Take the poet. Controlled by external forces, the internal is the mission. The wound becomes the source. Poetry is a religion to the poet. Words the church, the knowledge of writing, language. To exist is enough.

The poet is patient. The word itself is a lesson. They turn inward. With the shock at the intensity of feeling, the poet begins to write. The anguish of despair, struggle, sun held gently by the light, tugging at the curtain, the sea in the bay, the randomness of understanding. To be. That's enough.

The artist has two lives. Two lives that are inextricably linked. As Albert Camus said, "To create is to live twice." To live, to live, to live is to find meaning even in the most mundane of activities. It is to find life and purpose in creating art even when no one gives a damn or buys the art.

The poet thinks that to write in intense, thoughtful bursts is the only way to live. The poet writes, "The snow falls." It becomes a feeling and not a sensation. You feel the coldness in your heart, your exhale turns into a thin white mist. That sensation disappears but the thought stays.
