The process of going back and rendering some of the placeholder art pieces for card game project is pretty satisfying. 😅 Especially considering how BAD my placeholders were for some of the cards, just being really simple concepts. Still like 26~ drawings before hopefully playtesting the project.

Feels like my camera has had this constant motion-blur to it for a month or so now. 😭 Got to see one of the newly-arrived Burrowing Parakeets yesterday but ALL the photos had a blur, despite me standing perfectly still while taking photos. It was fairly still for most of them, too.

Been trying to speed-run a lot of card art lately, finally starting to take shape with stuff and how I want the game to feel aesthetically. Also been going through a dizzying number of cards just updating, re-phrasing, re-doing, etc to get an initial balance before first playtesting. 😵 270+ cards..

Got the totally second-best trainer card in full-art from a Wonder Pic. Only topped by Looker's total competitive dominance, of course. 🫡 I do like getting cool cards in other languages tho, it feels more neat.

Forgive my lack of posting a bit lately, been stressed and not enjoying the world news unfolding lately. Or it being on my doorstep, seen military helicopters around me a lot lately.. 😓 Working on more cards and stuff lately, too, and some IRL pains.

Diving back into posts a bit for #birdwatching featuring a Wood Duck from yesterday munching on a.. dandelion. 😅 It was wandering around with its mate most the time we were there, funny to see other wildlife photographers stalking them, the Egrets, and the Canada Geese that were there.

Hoping to finish this drawing (on the right) tonight for the VGen rose-theme submission (and for card art). 🥀 Always been hard to draw Briar, and fur in general, so I went all-in on a more washed painterly style for the whole piece and I'm actually finally happy with the results.

Silly doodle blob slime version vs. more serious slime doodle. Old 1st silly game vs. current card game project. I do plan on having a set of slime cards for early game stuff, trying to doodle out some more art for basic cards so I can maybe playtest with a small pool of cards sometime. ☝️

Heavy rainstorm passed, niece was born (❤️🙏), and I'm almost done being sick. Stressful week. 😅 Have a window-viewed Bewick's Wren, one of the couple that've started to nest in our sideyard, calling its mate to continue their settling-in now that the storm cleared out. Hoping they lay eggs soon. 👀

I may of gotten sick, but at least I got to see a Bewick's Wren couple building a nest into one of our (ancient) birdhouses. 🥺 These little buggers are so cute to see dart back-and-forth with nesting material. Feeling gross and sick was a little less bad since I got to watch these two nesting.

Finally found a local(ish) area that has the peacocks roaming around wild (obviously not native). Last time I saw these guys it was in my own neighborhood for about a year, just the one guy living in our streets. That was maybe like 2017 or somethin' tho so I can actually register this bird now. 🙏

Thinking about adding a Prophecy mechanic to the TCG I'm still working on in the background (lots of cards, no time to give them all art). I want to try and add stuff that melds gameplay and a sense of world immersion. Just can't tell if it's too clunky? I don't want it to be easy to complete. 🤔

Seeing Double-Crested Cormorants more as well lately while #birdwatching at the lakes. Saw some casually stalking a couple of pelicans, being a little sneaky trying to gleam off of them. Kinda silly buggers, despite looking like they'd be super serious. Really pretty contrast in their eye colors.

Testing a little setup for the model showcase for the stop motion VTuber doll. Going to be one-client purchase, and the buyer will also get shipped the actual doll as well (as long as I can ship it myself). 🤞 Fingers crossed it doesn't have any shipping damage, it's pretty frail. 😭

Recently been encountering the Northern Mockingbird more while #birdwatching both at home and out on trails. At first it just looked like a fat warbler when I saw one perching near the house. I hear them a few streets down, but hadn't at home before. Their eyes kinda creep me out but they're cool. 👁️

Got to see a little of the parrots briefly this morning. Only took a few photos, they were just on the wires and resting a bit. Maintained my distance. Once I looked through the photos, one seems to have some yellow on its facial coloration?
