BREAKING: Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has called a special legislative session, allowing representatives to pass a bill curbing voters’ access to direct democracy. Not content with eroding the democratic process through gerrymandering, the governor is now also taking aim at ballot measures.

Direct democracy is under assault. Politicians around the country are attempting to make it harder for their constituents to utilize ballot measures, a valuable tool that can be used to protect abortion access, raise wages, stop predatory lenders, expand Medicaid, secure paid leave, and more.
