I was going to finish the garden tomorrow, but it was such a nice day I went ahead and put almost everything in. I wasn't able to find habanero plants, so there's still a few containers left open, but it's 90% done

I spent a not insignificant amount of money on labels for 2 new products only to discover 1) I ordered 2 of one and not 1 of each 2) the labels were 1/4 inch too wide.

Today I am recovering from two days of filling pots with soil. Buying garden soil was a mistake...it smelled worse than the cow manure and was so heavy my spade broke and my elbow is killing me. I am going to see if I can get some coir and mix some of that into the soil to lighten it up.

Yesterday I put together all the food things I've been planning to try. Soaked red beans overnight because I usually use canned. Put bacon grease in my cornbread. Made turkey chili with the red beans and Habanero Infused Salt and put it over cornbread. Oh man, I will never have it any other way

Eventually I will have to branch out and try to sell at some farmers' markets, which means I'll have to work a little harder to conquer thia anxiety. But such is life

I make a ton of homemade ginger beer, so this is something I'm going to try out for sure

Pepper plants are looking really healthy, and also starting to take up too much room. I plan to sell or trade more of my extras, perhaps for more compost. I might also be open to trading for sweet peppers. Just being realistic: going to try growing some everyday produce because prices are so high

I made the mistake of storing 4 bags of Miracle Gro soil outside under some plastic sheeting, thinking it would be safe because who steals dirt? So of course, I come outside yesterday and there are 3 bags instead of 4. Guess I'm lucky they didn't grab the compost too

This is a cautionary tale. My plant leaves looked too light, so I stupidly thought a dose of iron chelate fertilizer would fix it. Look how wrong I was. You can see the leaf bronzing that shows the excess iron. Three plants out of 18 have died. Don't overreact! #gardening #peppers #patience 🌶
