supreme Court’ judges take two oaths. The same one as the Executive an Congress and an oath to “administer justice impartially, equally and faithfully without respect to person”, status or wealth. I content that clear half of congress and a third of SCOTUS is also in breach of their oaths.

The question is: has the government breached the contract? The Executive has clearly broken his oath. Members of Congress pledge to support and defend the Constitution. But one can’t “bear true faith” while simultaneously ignoring the Executive’s transgressions of the same Constitution. Oath broken.

The federal government made a contract with the people of the US. All the federal laws are predicated upon adherence to that contract. When the government breaches that contract its laws are no longer binding. Adherence is voluntary. State laws still apply to the people, except in Texas of course.

Truth and lies are siblings of human nature. Honesty kills hope in those that dream but don’t do. People need anger to motivate action. Yet angry people rarely do the right things. They burn & destroy. Lies, by design, create anger. That’s why dictators lie so much. That’s why truth is so delicate.

1) The universe has two basic truths expressed as enthalpy and entropy.All things tend towards lower energy states and all things tend toward greater randomness. Society is no different.It’s a constant struggle between order & chaos, law & freedom.A balance between human selflessness & selfishness.

2) By giving the president immunity for his official actions SCOTUS has given nothing. Any action taken that is illegal or not in his powers is by definition - not IAW his oath and therefore not official. If the president uses this ruling as defense for his actions he is employing a false argument.

3) If the president lied when he took the oath, then all actions taken by the president that are not expressly called out in the Constitution are subject to prosecution. The SCOTUS ruling on immunity is superfluous.

1) If the president, by his oath, is to faithfully administer the Constitution and laws of the US, then he will have no need of immunity for his official actions. They will always be IAW the law. Any action taken that is illegal is, by simple logic, not an official duty and therefore prosecutable.

As we look at ourselves in the mirror of history I can’t help but wonder what people see? The two countries most instrumental in ridding the world of Nazis have become the very Nazi we deplored. Is that the inescapable fate of mankind? We rebel against kings and czars just to elect a king, a czar?

Religion is another attempt of societies to establish a set of laws to protect people of their own selfish nature. In general, they are no more successful than governments. Like gov, they spend far too much time blaming other religions for the plight of one versus another. Morality [love] gets lost.

Historical, government are established by people to protect the power structures of that society. If through hard work a person gains prosperity and security, law is meant to keep the brutish of the world from taking it. America is the first country to offer that protection explicitly to the people.

Society is created for the greater good of a people. It is born of necessity from the selflessness of humans. Government is created to protect that society from the selfishness of that same people and is also born of necessity. When the selfish form the government, the purpose is corrupted.

I embarked on rereading the Federalist Papers with the intent of discerning the difference between those that conceived and supported our Constitution and those that are abandoning it now.What I found was the people were not different pre say.They too were divided.The difference was that they cared.

Impeachment is what separates our executive from a king - or so it was intended. Our current president has committed treason, accepted bribes, been convicted of high crimes and misdemeanors, but being impeached twice has not prevented him from being a king. Why? Greed and cowardice.

In reading what Jay and Hamilton thought about the power of impeachment, the shame and dishonor that is supposed to come with it, it just makes me sad at how base and shameless our society has become. Seriously, where is our shame?

Today’s society and government make a mockery of John Jay’s presumption in Fed 64. We are not enlightened or thoughtful. Those we elect are not distinguished by their ability or virtue. Madison was very concerned with protecting the minority from the majority in our republic. That is very true when it comes to protecting the rights of the helpless in our society. When I was still in the IC, i had a big poster of the American flag at my desk. To honor their sacrifice I posted the names of the Americans that died in Iraq on that flag. By the dnd of that war I could no longer see the flag. It was then I learned the difference between nationalism and patriotism

I saw two people on the bus today actually reading a newspaper. Reading it. It reminded me of a time when people wanted to be informed - not entertained.

It continually amazes me that throughout history some of the wisest and educated men put forth social contracts for the just and peaceful governance of men, just to have them torn down by the ignorant, vain and greedy.

In Federalist 29 Hamilton posed “Do the persons who rave imagine that their eloquence can impose any conceit or absurdity upon the people of America for infallible truths?”He could not conceive of how stupid the America people could become.Today the US military is being used to take away our liberty

In Federalist 26 Hamilton talks about the importance and dangers of having a standing army and national guard, but he assumes that the congress would never betray their constituents and allow them to be used to take away their rights. He misjudged how depraved the ruling party could get.

Hamilton tells us the danger we are exposed to if we permit the bonds that hold the American people together to be severed or dissolved by ambition, avarice, jealousy or lies. All of these sins the current administration is using to divide us. But it is we the people that are allowing it to happen.

In Fed 11 Hamilton observes that Europe, in it’s hubris and colonialism, considered the rest of mankind as created for their benefit.They attributed to it’s inhabitants a superiority, and have asserted that all animals, and with them the human species, lesser.This seems to be a core MAGA assertion.

When I worked in the IC the people there, both conservative and liberal, worked tirelessly to find the truth and speak that truth to power. I am sure that they are still there working to do the same. The difference is that now the folks in power are not listening.

I don’t know if I would call Madison, Jay or Hamilton naive, but they certainly couldn’t have anticipated how depraved, ignorant and selfish our society or our leaders could become.

Hamilton seems to better understand the basic weakness of human beings. He assumes however that each representative would act in their own self interest, and possibly in that of their constituents, pulling the nation in the direction of a negotiated median.

Madison rightly conjectures that a republic is the best option to manage factionalism, but assumes the representatives would be wise enough to discern the true interests of their country and their patriotism and love of justice would prevent them from sacrificing these interests for personal gain.

Jay thought Americans were intelligent and well informed. That may have been true at the time, but is certainly not true today. A person may be intelligent and well informed, but as a group people are tribal, hateful and willfully ignorant.

John Jay thought Americans were a uniform people with a common heritage and language, but they are instead a diverse group of people that have vastly different values and desires.

Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison defended the social contract (Constitution) our government made with the people of the United States in the Federalist Papers. They each had a vision of who those people were. I’m not at all sure that those assumptions were correct or hold true today.

I am rereading the Federalist Papers, this time not to understand the purpose behind their support of the Constitution, but to understand the people and how different they were then from what we are now. It is truly sad what we are becoming. It’s not _rump’s fault - it’s ours. We put them there.
