Welcome to PFY, Allie Mombourquette! Allie joins us with a Master of Social Work and a passion for youth and social justice. She’ll be supporting PFY Connect and the NB Youth Advisory Council—we’re so glad to have her on board!

A big shoutout to our incredible Youth Works team that is helping youth gain the confidence and tools to shape their future. Youth Works is a program focused on career development, education, employment readiness, and social-emotional growth.

The Sport3 program leaves a lasting impact on middle school students by building essential life skills that go far beyond the classroom. Delivered over three focused days each school year, students take part in games and activities that strengthen communication, empathy, and conflict resolution.

The 15th annual Ring A Bell campaign is taking place from December 8–12 this year! Coordinated by Dots NB / PFY in collaboration with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, the campaign engages K–8 students in mental health and wellness activities across the province.

Dots NB, PFY’s youth mental health pillar, has spent over a decade raising awareness and mobilizing communities to demand better services for youth. The work continues toward a system that’s youth-centered, family-focused, and community-supported.

Today, we pause to reflect on the significance of Truth and Reconciliation Day. At Partners for Youth, we remain committed to acknowledging the history and experiences of Indigenous communities and supporting the ongoing journey toward healing and understanding.

PFY Connect is a youth-focused rapid access mental health program that connects young people with licensed counselling therapy. We partner with over 100 licensed therapists across NB and beyond, offering youth choice, flexibility, and access to a wide range of expertise.

PFY Connect is a rapid-access counselling program that offers free, licensed therapy for youth ages 14-24. The referral process is simple: youth can refer themselves, refer a friend, or be referred by family, teacher, guidance counsellor, or community partner–by phone or through our website.

Welcome back, Chris Cormier! A longtime PFY team member and current UNB student, Chris brings years of experience working with youth in local and international settings. He’s returned part-time to help deliver Sport3, and we’re so glad to have him back on the team this year!

Sport3 is back in 30+ middle schools across NB and PEI! Using sports to teach teamwork, leadership, and conflict resolution, our amazing facilitators—Tom, Lily, Brittany, and Chris—are excited to connect with youth again this year.

NBYCN is proud to provide comfort kits to children and youth entering the care system. Through the Ted and Loretta Rogers Comfort Kit Program, the goal is to improve the experience of coming into care. Starting this fall, we will deliver 75 personalized comfort kits across New Brunswick.

In partnership with the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada and through the NB Youth in Care Network, PFY offers support for the health and well-being of youth in care. This program helps cover a wide range of needs, ensuring that youth can access the services they need to thrive.

Stanley Cup Champion Jake Allen’s PROGRAM 34 is dedicated to breaking down barriers that prevent youth from participating—whether due to poverty, distance, disability, or culture. Jake and Shannon Allen have long been generous supporters of community organizations, giving back time and time again.

Ten years ago, our summer leadership camp embarked on an unforgettable journey—paddling over 100 km along the Wolastoq River in large canoes over 7 days. Campers faced tough weather, camping at various sites and supporting one another through it all. It was a powerful experience! #ThrowbackThursday

Meet Clara (she/they), one of our PFY summer staff! Clara co-chairs the NB Youth Advisory Council, founded Rassembl’Art, and even delivered a TEDx talk on rethinking education. Her passion for equity, justice, and youth engagement drives everything she does. We’re thrilled to have her on our team!

For over 30 years, the NB Children’s Foundation has supported PFY’s work with youth—including our summer camp. We’re grateful for their 150+ years of commitment to helping children and youth across the province thrive.

The NB Youth in Care Network has been on the road this summer, connecting with youth all across the province! This summer tour is all about gathering input to help shape next year’s programming. Stay tuned this fall as we unveil a brand new 10-month activity schedule — built with youth, for youth!

The NB Youth Advisory Council is hard at work this summer—from consulting on service hubs to planning elections, developing a communications strategy, and exploring podcasts. Member recruitment and engagement efforts are in full swing!

Leadership Camp wraps up our summer with an outtrip along the St. Croix International Waterway, with campers taking an active role in planning, preparation, and leadership. In the past, some groups have travelled over 100 km! It’s a powerful way to grow, reflect, and finish the season with purpose.

In 2014, we celebrated our 20th anniversary by welcoming 250 middle school students to the Fredericton Convention Centre to hear from adventurer and ultra-marathoner Ray Zahab. Later that evening, Ray delivered a keynote address at our gala event, attended by over 400 guests. What a day to remember!

Meet Leah Fancey, our new Project Coordinator supporting Sport 3 and Making Waves! With a background in leadership studies and experience in the non-profit world, she’s passionate about youth, justice, and community. We’re thrilled to have her on the team!

Sun Life Bright Futures Wellness supports vulnerable children and youth through the Mindful Kids program, teaching coping strategies, stress management, and daily mindfulness techniques. By delivering the program outdoors, we add a fun and innovative element to our summer camp experience.

The Ben Bourque Scholarship offers up to $500 for tuition to youth pursuing post-secondary education. Anyone from the care of the Province of New Brunswick can apply, including students who have previously received the scholarship. To learn more or apply, visit: partnersforyouth.ca/programs/the...

Barring certain exceptions, applications for a benefit that helps low income NBers pay their rent are closed as almost all of the money allocated for this fiscal year has been spoken for. This comes after the government announced they put 21 million into it on May 20th.

Each summer, our New Brunswick Youth in Care team hits the road for a tour to connect with youth, share information about the network, and plan activities and programs for the coming year. This summer, we have 33 stops booked across NB! Want to learn more? Reach out—we’d love to hear from you.

Thanks to RBC’s support, PFY launched PFY Connect, a rapid-access youth mental health program that helps young people get the care they need without long waits. We’re grateful for RBC’s continued partnership and investment in building healthier futures for youth!

In partnership with the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada and Scotiabank, PFY proudly supports the Scotia Stay in School Program. This year, we presented 57 awards to youth in care graduating from high school or post-secondary. Congratulations to all the graduates — we’re so proud of you!

Our new summer staff are in the middle of training, which includes a trip along the St. Croix International Waterway, a certified canoe course delivered by our core staff team, and workshops on risk management, group development, orienteering, and our low ropes challenge course.

The NB Youth Advisory Council amplifies youth voices with a focus on youth mental health. It creates opportunities for active participation with allied support, guided by a Youth Rights lens, and ensures that youth are recognized as leaders for change and acknowledged as experts in their own right.

Food and nutrition are an important part of our summer camp preparations. Our menu combines traditional camp foods with some all-time favourites, most of which are prepared in advance by our dedicated staff. This week, we have been making hundreds and hundreds of samosas!

This year, Sport3 has been busy making a difference in the lives of students across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island! From school visits to hours of programming and upcoming festivals, these numbers show the energy and care our team puts into creating fun, engaging spaces for youth.

Sport3 was created to foster better conversations among youth, with a focus on conflict resolution and mental health skills. By combining fun, sport, and communication, Sport3 empowers youth to take responsibility for their actions. Participants collaborate through talking, listening, and empathy.
