A local woman stated we should close all the county libraries and fund a water park for the kids with that money. I looked up how much water parks cost to build. It would take the county 125 to 500 YEARS to fund a water park based on the amount they spend to fund FOUR libraries for a year.

I think I need to buy a copy of Everyone Who Is Gone Is Here. I can only read it for short periods of times - but I need to read it all. And the library I borrowed it from probably would love their book back soon. Heavy book. Heavy topic. A must read to understand some of today.

WATER! And know why I have water? Well, the heater in the crawl space is one, and because I went up to daughter's house, and got a canning kettle full of water to do the dishes. But running water!

Morning update - Daughter's house (same well) has water. SOOOO - all the equipment is working, it's under our house that's not. We're supposed to get to 50 later today; later this morning we will run a drop cord and put a heater under the house to help. No worries , we will keep an eye on it.

This made me burst out laughing - IYKYK.

And now? No water. Not a frozen pipe, not a broken pressure pump - either a frozen (even though there is heat in the well house 24/7) or broken pressure pump switch - or a dead well pump. Everything else we can afford and fix ourselves. The well pump? No - so it could be months without.

Here you go - February 1st in TN. Abnormal amount of snow - 2-4 inches is our normal when it does snow. This will last for days thanks to it being cold cold for about a week still.

2 days of shoveling, 13 inches of snow - and it's been lightly snowing on and off all morning. Currently 22 degrees - will be 7 tonight. This is what it looks like when a guy with a plow on his truck does your your road, and this is one of the BEST condition roads in town. Remember, this is TN.

Microscale world - no worries, Surprise Chicken was back later morning yesterday. She looked cold and unhappy, but perked for food. This morning, it being in the high 20s, she ran for the gate as soon as she saw me, so she is fine.

In our mistaken attempt to help Surprise Chicken in this horrible cold we were having last night and this morning, we may have driven her away. Hopefully it is only temporary. There is no sign of her this morning, but if she is holed up somewhere warm, I'd stay there too.
