We learned about the artist Andy Warhol today. We created an image in his Pop Art style. 🎨👩🏻‍🎨

📏 We are using our measuring skills in real life today by finding 8 objects in the playground, measuring them in cm and we will convert these to mm and m when we get back to class. 📏

We chose a planet to research as part of our learning about the solar system.

We converted between units of measure today by using our ➗✖️ by 10,100,1000 skills.

We evidenced the themes from our novels today. What theme was in your child’s novel?

Today we used our spelling strategies on One Note to help us with our words.

We worked hard on our spelling strategies today. Some of us have phonemes as our spelling rules and some of us are learning about prefixes. Ask your child what their spelling rule was this week.

We worked hard on our Big Maths today. We then chose an online game to help with the x table we wish to focus on most.

We worked hard today solving algebraic equations 🤓. We completed this task on One Note and had to find the value of the emojis.

We learned how the poppies were made in Scotland today. We also learned how they became the emblem to remember the fallen.

We have enjoyed our algebra topic in maths. Ask your child how to solve equations.

We got our new spelling words/rules today and completed a visualisation task based on our novel.

We continued our learning today about eclipses and learned about the types of lunar eclipses that happen. We also learned what a blood moon is and why it has its name. 🌝🌖🌗🌒🌚

Today we learned about solar eclipses. We learned that there are 3 types of solar eclipse. Ask us about them!

P6R entered this competition and we were delighted for one of our classmates who got a prize for their poster. If you are on Facebook, all of the posters can be seen on the Police Scotland Forth Valley page, your child could show you theirs.

Today we wrote up our short science experiment from earlier in the week. We completed this on our iPads.

Our pupil leadership team are selling poppies for Remembrance Day.

Today we are revising using number machines. Pupil feedback yesterday was the reverse questions were a little tricky. Today we had a video on Teams to talk us through these questions.

We are writing an explanation text this week for taught writing. To give it a context, we carried out a small experiment called “Scared Pepper” what did your child recall from this?

Busy bees this morning with our literacy work. We are revising spelling rules, exploring words in our novels and completing a metalinguistics task. We are also reading this week’s chapters.

Polite Reminder that P6R require charged iPads each day. We use these from 9am across the curriculum. Your support reminding your child to bring theirs to school charged is appreciated.

We carried out the Halloween House Quiz, which was created by our pupil leadership team. Ask your child some if they remember some of the questions.

As advertised in our annual overview, pupils are welcome to dress up for Halloween tomorrow if they wish to. We kindly request no weapons, no masks and no football colours are worn.

This morning we are working hard on our spelling strategies. We use One Note to do this. We use the strategies, use the words in sentences that the teacher has written to ensure understanding and we also write our own sentences too.

Just a reminder that iPads should be charged and brought to school each day. We use these across the curriculum. Your support is really appreciated in reminding your child to bring them.

Today we focussed on our mental maths. We had a CLIC session and then had tasks set on SumDog for us.

Today we used our knowledge of factors to find prime numbers. We then accessed online platforms to practise our number bonds.

We were busy today with our new spelling rules, predicting what would happen in our novels and reading some of them.

We will be using our iPads a lot tomorrow. Please ensure they’re charged up for coming to school.

This afternoon we played some mental maths games to help us practise our times tables. Some pupils also asked to create Multiple posters to help them recall the times table facts they find tricky to remember. We have worked so hard on our tables this term, I’m super impressed at the hard work!
