We learned about puns today and made our own on something that is hiding in school bags until Sunday. 🤫Can you guess what it is?

We learned the words for the weather in Spanish today. We made fortune tellers to help us have a conversation about it with our friends.

Spelling strategies on One Note this morning to help us identify which strategy we find best for each word.

We planned our taught writing on Monday to write a persuasive letter. Today we are using our plan from our iPad to write it. Ask us what the context was.

We focused on our mental maths this morning and followed this up with times table practise on SumDog.

We are researching the benefits of exercise today and displaying our findings in a poster. We have to put the facts in our own words and we can present the poster in a way of our choice.

We are learning about the to, two and too homophones today. We are completing tasks on One Note to demonstrate our understanding of these. Ask us what we had to do.

The 🟥🔺🔴 learned about the order of operations today in maths. We learned the acronym BODMAS and used this to help us solve the calculations.

We are busy this morning with our spelling words. It’s our revision week this week to consolidate our learning of the rules from the last few weeks. We are also evidencing the main ideas from our group novels.

As it is World Book Day this week, we are researching the benefits of reading and will use these reasons in our writing this week to persuade people to read more. 📚

We are using our knowledge of angles and triangles to design a similar artwork to Wassily Kandinsky today.

Today we have been busy with our new spelling rules and answering a range of questions on our novels.

Today we are writing our endings to “The Clock Tower”. We planned this on Monday on our iPad, which allows us to amend our spelling and use the accessibility features during the planning stage.

We analysed some food adverts today to think about what strategy the advert used to persuade us to buy their products. Ask your child the different strategies they learned about.

Today we classified angles using the correct vocabulary. To do this, we explored the playground for angles and took photos of them. We then identified the angle and named them.

In preparation for our Bikeability next week, we looked at sustainable journeys today.

We worked hard in team games during PE.

We were most pleased with ourselves during Big Maths this morning and we remembered how to partition numbers. Our confidence with mental maths is increasing each week. Great work!

Even very small amounts of gluten can cause damage for people with coeliac disease.  Taking simple steps to avoid cross contamination at home, like using separate utensils and toasters, helps protect your health.

We learned today how the media influence our food choices. We used Curipod to help us with this and enjoyed receiving individual feedback from the AI to see if we agreed with it as our next steps.

This afternoon we watched a short film called the Clock Tower. We stopped the clip after a short time and we planned our own endings to the story. What happens in your child’s story?

Today we were introduced to our new spelling words and we analysed our text for descriptive quotes. Once we had these, we created a visualisation to match the quote.

Today we practised measuring angles using a protractor. We “chopped up” our initials and then selected angles to measure. Lots of resilience shown and even a few handy hints shared with each other. 🙃 great work team 6R!

An email was sent home today to P6R parents to let them know about a change to our PE days due to the hall timetable having to change. Our PE days are now Tuesday (with me) and Wednesday (with Mr Egan) This is effective from next week.

We continued our learning in science learned about flower reproduction using Curipod. We enjoyed getting some AI feedback and seeing if it helped our next steps in learning.

Today we played a team game in PE which we really enjoyed.

I was blown away at the determination of P6R today. We have been drawing accurate triangles and today we used a compass to help us. Ask us how a compass helps us draw a triangle 😉.

We had a visit from the community police officers today to talk about internet safety.

Our Parent Council have arranged a Dress Down Day for tomorrow.

We learned what makes websites reliable today. We had to investigate 2 websites and looked at the features genuine websites have. We also made some memes to warn against reading fake news.

Today we learned what onomatopoeia was and we learned how to use some features of KeyNote to display our new knowledge. When we found different features, we used Apple TV to share it with others.

As it’s Safer Internet Day this week, we took time to recap our knowledge of internet safety. We also revisited Google Interland, where each island helps us remember appropriate online conduct.

We completed a metalinguistics task today related to our new novels. We also were introduced to our new spelling rules.

We are rounding to the nearest 100 today. We are using textbooks, active tasks and online games to help us practise this skill.

We are rounding numbers to the nearest 10 today.

Today we explored the front cover and the blurb of our new novel. We used the clues to predict what may happen in the stories.

Today we are dissecting daffodils to help us learn about the anatomy of a flower.

Today we completed our spelling strategies on One Note.

Yesterday, we completed our taught writing about carrying out an M check on our bikes.
