I actually argued in this interview that we’ll see increased differentiation between “artisanal” art and art that involves AI. I would expect to see similar differentiation in lots of spaces, particularly ones with no unified oversight, which is most of them on this front at the moment.

Fully agree! I think the issue of transparency and disclosure is a complex one in this case, as with the use of AI itself. I get that even claiming that is highly contentious tho. I want to see more open, uncoerced discussion on this front and I don’t know how we get there from here.

While I’m very sympathetic to the concerns expressed here, I worry that this approach ultimately incentivizes lying and drives this debate further underground. I don’t think it’s good for anyone if folks are justifiably afraid to share their experiences/perspectives or disclose their use of AI.
