I need to fine-tune the timing of preparing dinner vs. anticipating an edible to hit. I usually heap toppings on pita pizza. Instead I took the easy route w/pizza sauce, a few pinches of herbs/spices, plant-based mozza, and sliced green olives.

Skip the Dishes is such garbage. I had a $50 certificate, a $15 off coupon and ended up paying $23 for a $62 order of food (the $15 coupon was for orders over $60). It’s from a grossly overpriced restaurant I liked decades ago.

I can see a raised vein on my right forearm for the first time ever. Weird.

I’m down to one cat for the first time in almost 13 years.

I haven’t eaten in two days. I’m probably going to get fired from my job. I’m having my cat euthanized today and have to figure out what’s best for my newest adoptee who is the sweetest and happiest ball of fluff. Muriel is such a happy cat. She doesn’t deserve this.

Binge-watching BTVS in the background while sick and figuring out when to bring Minou in today to have him euthanized and of course, we’re two episodes away from The Body. The power company just called me to threaten to disconnect my electricity on Friday.

I feel like a bit of a jerk, but actually contacted a grocery delivery provider today to have my tip to a driver/shopper refunded. The guy guilt-tripped me about taking up too much of his time looking for a replacement and then left my groceries behind my building instead of in the front entrance.

If I didn’t have Muriel I’d be done.

Stayed home with the sick kitty today. He had me up most of the night and concerned, but he seems better this afternoon. I’m going to watch him so very closely the next few days.

What a long day. I’m craving Thai coconut curry and have everything I need to make it, but all I want to do is medicate my cat, change into my pyjamas, then fall asleep watching something that makes me happy.

I’ve been watching bad rom-coms all day.

I wish it would just stay dark all day. It always feels more safe, less stressful. I don’t have to answer to anyone. No decisions need to be made.

Well. This is terrible.

Minou is medicated and has been eating more today than he has in several days. He’s still enjoying scritches. I may seek out medication of my own after all of this. I’m still grieving the loss of his older brother Eli who died from a nasal tumour earlier this year.

Went into urgent care w/Minou tonight. He got fluids, more meds. The vet thinks it’s abdominal—possibly a mass. She urged me to take him to my regular clinic for an ultrasound tomorrow, talked about quality of life/euthanasia. I’m an absolute mess. He peed in the carrier on the way home.

I wish I had someone to come do my dishes, heal my cat, make me food, and just hug me for a while. I really hate this whole living thing right now.

Minou isn’t eating today, even after meds. He!s super low-energy and I’ll have to force-feed him again.

I haven’t eaten in almost 24 hours. I probably should.

This little one has been wondering why I’ve been sitting on the bed with her older brother all day, watching each and every little nibble he takes. I took a break and we played for a while.

Bloodwork was fine. He’s getting a urinalysis and if that’s clear, will be tested for issues with his pancreas. If that’s clear, we’ll likely be sent home with an appetite stimulant and we’ll return after the weekend for further tests.

Minou’s hopefully going to get in to see a vet today.

I will never get used to getting up when it’s dark out. It doesn’t help that my apartment is pretty dark to begin with. This is also the second night in a row I turn on the heat in my bedroom (for kitty Minou’s osteoarthritis).

Ugly cried when I got home from work today. My vet’s office said to call first thing in the morning to see whether they have cancellations tomorrow. I’ll be syringe-feeding Minou in 60-90 minute intervals this evening, then at some point in the middle of the night and early in the morning.

People at work have been encouraged to start using AI to write everything from reports to simple emails (particularly if their writing/grammatical skills are poor). One of the people with whom I interact has begun using it in Teams msgs to me and it’s so glaringly obvious.

Do I want to watch Cast Away (with Tom Hanks), or will it just be too depressing?
