🧭 Field Camp Recap Day 4: I investigated whether a major branch of the N. Anatolian Fault was going through a nearby valley. Based on the contact b/w the green (serpentinite) and brown (phyllite) above/below the valley, I determined there was a right-lateral strike-slip fault.

Dr. Helge Gonnermann, #RiceEEPS volcanologist, could not resist flying over Kilauea, during its 26th eruption of the year. According to Gonnermann, "Since 23 December 2024 [Kilauea has had] a fire fountain episode every 10 days or so, lasting 8 hours or so."

On 6/18 attendees gathered for the Geo-intelligence for Innovation: An Industrial Approach workshop. The event increased participants' understanding of how geospatial intelligence can drive industrial advancements. Congrats to Dr. Vergoplan, Bruno Sousa, and the SENAI Institute!
