What a day! First day with the fine folks at @larianstudios.com - the todo list is enormous, but the people is so welcoming and positive. This is going to be great. After that full day of data inhalation I went out for dinner with @kbeyls.bsky.social and it was nice to nerd out with a fellow LLVMer!

Weight loss is very individual, but here is what helped me lose 18kg over the last 6 months. I used the app "MacroFactor" to log what I eat, I replaced my lunch with a meal shake, I focused on my protein intake, gym 3x/week and 10k steps the other days. Motivation is the key, and I had it.

Job update: I am leaving Ubisoft at the end of the year. I am very proud of the work I did on compiler optimizations on AC: Shadows and I will miss my co-workers there dearly. In the new year I will join the fine folks over at @larianstudios.com and work on compilers and builds. I am very excited!

Back home after a week in Montreal. It was great fun to hang out with my team IRL, had great food and beer and many interesting discussions. My talk got very good feedback as well. With all that said. It's so damn nice to be back home.

PSA: If you are playing FF7Rebirth on PC and have texture problems and soft-locks - try upgrading the DirectStorage DLL's. It fixed almost ALL my issues with textures. It's almost like they shipped the wrong version of the DLLs. Hope SquareEnix fix it in a patch soon.

Very happy to have landed some really aggressive optimizations for an upcoming game today. ThinLTO with whole-program-vtables plus PGO and the basic block reordering. Ended up gaining around 10% performance on the CPU frame on PC. It's been a long road with testing and iteration.

It's so fucking demoralising at times.

Finally getting around to play Baldurs Gate 3! Wonderful writing, characters and world. I like the combat (but I am not very good at it) and have a lot of decision paralysis at certain choices! I know this isn't a novel take, but I wanted to make sure to show my love. We need more games like this.
