Recently, at a rally in support for the Immigrant Communities on Long Island, I was embodied by the spirit of people, neighbors & coworkers, whose lives r being squashed under the pasty thumb of hatred (spread by disinformation), & fear (that they or their loved ones will be uprooted). 3

I have found,over these past,arduous, years, that being in community w/ others who transform hope in2 action,is educating,uplifting,& turgid w/possibilities that flush away despair & apathy,clearing room 4 our ever present lighthearted self 2 dance, unhindered,2 the rhythm of our “normal” lives. 2

Hope is one of my favorite words. But, like a free spirit or a disordered cloud, hope yearns for agency and asks for a kick in the butt to foster condensation, rain her purpose down and sprout seeds of resistance. 1

Even under the stiff skirt of winter, beneath her crusted & unyielding skin,the slow pulse of hope courses thru her frozen body.Queen bees clasp shut their lockets filled w sperm,dreaming of possibilities until spring thaws the colder shoulder of winter.
