This afternoon we presented timelines on famous Scots of our choice, complete with some fantastic PowerPoints and Canva designs to support our talks!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Inspired by the work of Andy Scott, we created our own ‘Under the Surface’ designs using our imagination. So impressed with the creativity in P5P! 🎨✍️

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Scots Poetry🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This morning we started learning ‘The Coming o The Wee Malkies’ for our Scots Poetry Competition. We all have a paper copy home with us to practise with as well as a digital copy on Teams and OneNote. We will have a poetry recital in class on Thursday.

This week in P5, we have completed 3 Codemas Challenges using Scratch, MicroBit and Code Lab🎄👩‍💻 We really enjoyed getting to play each others coded festive song guessing game! Fantastic work Primary 5! 🤩⭐️

It was so much fun eating our Christmas lunch with our friends yesterday! ❤️🎄

We had the BEST time at our Christmas Party today!! 🥳🪩

We have been learning about camouflage as part of our Rainforest topic. We each had a go at trying to hide a butterfly around the classroom using by blending it in with its background. Here was a few of the ones we found tricky to find! 🙈🌲🦋

We started our new reading books this week. Today we practised reading them with expression with a friend📚📖

Today we were learning to say different colours in French. We had lots of fun playing Bingo to practise what we learned. Ask us to teach you a colour or two at home! 🇫🇷

Today for Children in Need we are wearing ‘Something that makes us smile.’ We are really looking forward to Beanie’s Got Talent this afternoon! 🤩🤩

This week is Anti-Bullying Week! Today we became Anti-Bullying Agents by completing a series of digital challenges on our iPads.

We have been learning about nets of 3D shapes. Today in maths, we worked with a partner to build 3D shapes of our choice from their nets!

Yesterday, we chose a rainforest animal of our choice to research and create a fact file on. Some of us chose to create posters, whilst others made digital presentations to share with the class! Amazing work P5P 👏

IDL - The Rainforest 🌲 Today we learned about the climate of different rainforests and had a go at being weather reporters to share our findings with the class! 🗞️🚨

We have had a fantastic #EuropeanDayofLanguages in P5P. We listened to stories in Greek and French, created presentations on national animals on Canva and continued learning a language of our own choice on Duolingo!👏 @missmcguckinbps.bsky.social

On Monday we worked together in teams to complete a variety of different STEM related challenges🧑‍🔬 Our favourite was definitely the ‘Saving Sam’ gummy worm challenge!

This morning we used Connectors Books independently for the first time 📚🤩 These books allow us to teach each other key reading skills including predicting, questioning and summarising! Super teamwork everyone 🌟

Homework went out today which can be found in the ‘assignments’ section of Teams. Miss Mitchell gave out a copy of Glow log ins and went over how pupils can log in on any device at home. If there are any problems, pupils can ask for a paper copy📚 I can’t wait to see what you come up with! ✨

We have started a Fitness block in PE! Yesterday we moved round different stations in partners and talked about how exercising effects the body💪🏃

We have been learning about mindfulness and different strategies we can use to keep calm😎 This afternoon we explored the Reflect section on Teams after creating our own mindfulness toolkit🎨
