There are so many ways this can go horribly, terribly, frustratingly wrong, and only 1 way it can be good.

I find it interesting that there has been exactly one (1) Final Fantasy game to contain #FFTCG cards (Dissidia NT) but #MTG is working on its second with FFVII Rebirth and I’m willing to bet FVIIR3 will probably get something too.

The Strahd’s Descent lair is decent as well, 28.03 at current cheapest printings, so you’re paying 1.96 more if you want them with this art. You’re basically paying for that Bloodletter of Aclazotz with this one but that’s a really good card to have if you don’t already.

Whispers in Candlekeep seems pretty even, 32.07 worth of cards for 29.99 non-foil. 2.08 in savings for this so not bad I suppose. Can’t imagine who doesn’t have several versions of Counterspell by now though. #MTG

Shadows Over Baldur’s Gate SL looks even better at cheapest printings currently at 49.26 so 29.99 non-foil means saving 19.27 and the art is pretty neat too. #MTG

Black Lights and Dark Dungeons SL looks a lot better, I saw the Displacer Kitten and had a feeling it would be good value. Not sure I love the art but at least the value is there. Most of the cards have very few reprints as well. This one you’re getting 35.88 worth of cards for 29.99 non-foil #MTG

The only thing that sucks about these is that the previous Karlach and Astarion lairs had really good value, and Shart and Gale do not. Gale is even worse at a total of 8.24 for the cheapest printings of all those cards. So buying Gale’s lair means spending a whopping 21.75 more. #MTG

Initial price check for Shadowheart SL has it at 23.64 market so if you don’t care what they look like you can technically get all the cards 6.35 cheaper. The new art is undoubtedly cooler in most cases though (with Victimize being the notable exception). #MTG

I still wish they’d make a White (or at least Black/White) Shadowheart that’s more in line with her character from BG3. You can’t have all that character development and not put it on a card somehow. Plus it’s been enough time that it’s not really a spoiler anymore. #MTG
