The support, attention, care and education that teachers can provide for my kids - and every other parent's kids - depends on their resourcing and working conditions. Burnt out teachers don't lead to the best outcomes for students.

Excessive workloads are unhealthy, leading to stress & burnout, or worse. Also terrible for student experience - large class sizes, less attention in class, less time for detailed feedback, less time for consultation, less time for support... 🤦‍♂️ Staff & students deserve better.

The central issue with workloads at #UniCanberra is that when staff give feedback, it is not then reflected in workload guidelines. Consultation at UC is broken and the UC Leadership proposal won't fix that - it could easily make workloads worse.
