Why did you transition? Right answers only. Because when I finally looked at why I hated my body so much, I realized because of how *wrong* it felt, and then I realized why it felt so wrong. If I wasn't going to die in five years, probably at my own hand, something had to change.

For Jey, it was the realization that she was trans, that her father would never understand or approve, that she found a woman who loved her and also seemed to have her life set up already (her parents expected her to marry and take over the inn), and they needed to escape.

One of the great thing about writing in a medieval fantasy world is that I can drop a line like, "She'd pulled her lover into the cloakroom for a little light ravishing mid-ball", and people will understand what I mean.

I missed this earlier - I really need to keep up more - but I think I'll fill a few of these in.

Taeliana Creative's core idea: I was so tired of so few fantasy heroes who looked like me. So I wrote my own world.

Hi there! For Lesbian Visibility Month, I would like to note that in both my novels, the core relationships are lesbians. In Ballad of the Grey Swan, Jey is trans and Maisie is cis but both are lesbians, and in Fiendblood Meliantha is pansexual and Liliana is very, very gay.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work. "Can you provide me the full error message on the screen? I need more information than 'it doesn't work'."

I just saw this, so I have some catching up to do, but... I will be answering each of these questions in a separate reply post, because I'm probably going to one to do one for each book: Ballad of the Grey Swan, Fiendblood, and the WIP, Shadeborn.

After some things I considered today, I am thinking I need to get the book of short stories out earlier rather than later. There's backstory for things going on that I would like to get out. None of it is purely spoilers, but it does make some of the villains a bit rounded out.

I would just like to note that the book after Shadeborn (the one I'm working on now) has a main character who is a plus-sized woman, an adventurer, and enjoys all sorts of sex. She's not there for inclusivity, she's there because when I created her, she was a chubby girl from the start.
