Shohjahonmirzo, who is facing deportation to Uzbekistan and attempted suicide has been transferred to Louisiana.

It has now been a month and Steven continues his hunger strike. La Resistencia has not heard from him for several days and we are very worried for his health.

La Resistencia was unfortunately unable to reach Steven today even after multiple attempts. Steven's demands remain the same: his return to general population, to be seen by a dentist (which he has been waiting for since 2024), and an improvement to negligence.

As of today, February 24th, Steven Antonio Chavarria Portillo has been on hunger strike for 21 days, and has now missed 63 meals. This marks 3 full weeks of striking, meaning 3 full weeks of not eating.

In response to an incident where the officer was unable to pressure Steven into eating, and when Steven asked for a supervisor in response, Officer Ozioko closed a door on Steven's hand.

Steven was on the receiving end of Officer Ozioko’s aggression but since GEO staff who investigate incidents like this one never find GEO staff guilty, Steven believes he will soon lose communication with La Resistencia and his family again.
