Who would have thought that shadows and light are so annoying to "librarize". But if all goes well Mibo will have a 3D renderer that allows for Forward, Forward+, and Deferred rendering modes. The general thing works I just need to do Perf, docs and a few more tests.

The full 3D rendering pipeline as well as "physics" has been merged. Most likely the rest of the development will be editor driven. Ideally everything that comes after in the development of the game has to be there in one way or another within the editor.

Tried my hand at generating midis with a TOML composition and rendering with fluid synth. I think this one turned out pretty good (if you like ambient music).

And before the year ends, last update! The map editor is working, playtest mode enabled, full 3D rendering (no more 2.5D). Perf rounds pending, and better QoL features pending but I'm so happy I've arrived this far #fsharp #monogame #dotnet #gamedev #BuildingInPublic

I was a bit hesitant, but I think going full 3D coordinate space and keeping the isometric camera will actually be better in the long run I have a few ideas that can only be feasible if I go full 3D. first and foremost, having an actual built-in map editor. Let's see how long this takes

dotnet is so performant than most of the time I don't even need to "care about performance" but when I have to a few tweaks to my #fsharp code is all I need, a few structs here and there, some let inline over there and the ocasional inref/byref and that's all needed to improve massively
