It looks like a Bluesky app update caused reposts to stop appearing in the Highline feeds. I pushed an update and they should appear again, per your settings. By default, the Highline feeds include 10% reposts, but you can tweak how many your feed shows at feeds.mdruker.app

I fixed an oauth issue that affected logins to feeds.mdruker.app for some PDS’s. If you had trouble getting in, give it another shot!

FYI: the reverse chronological Highline feed is now known as Highline ⬆️ and the new chronological one is Highline ⬇️. They both use the same feed filtering logic and your customizable settings at feeds.mdruker.app.

New feed alert! I'm developing a new feed, a version of the Highline feed that's _forward_ chronological. It holds your place (up to 24 hours back), and catches you up to not-quite-now on what you missed. Try it and let me know what you think.

This explains some weirdness you may have seen on the Highline feed over the last few hours. This server itself seems to be OK

The Catch Up feed is now known as Highline! Like the highlights of your timeline/skyline. And new users of the feed will be defaulted to seeing some recent posts at the top. Happy for feedback, of course.

The Catch Up feed settings page (feeds.mdruker.app) now asks for fewer permissions when you log in

The Recent Posts setting (accessible at feeds.mdruker.app) has now been updated to include reposts and replies as you would normally see in your Following timeline, before showing you a more filtered view of earlier posts

The Catch Up feed supports this now. Show more / show less will increase or decrease by 1 the number of posts the feed will show you from that account per 24 hours. You can always see and edit those values at feeds.mdruker.app as well.

Updating the default settings so new users of the Catch Up feed will be able to see replies and some reposts. Existing users shouldn't be affected, but if you see something weird, let me know. And you can update settings at feeds.mdruker.app regardless.

Renamed the "Catch Up on Follows" feed to a catchier "Catch Up". Still the same feed.

I've cleaned up some stuff on the back-end, so you may have noticed some brief downtime. Everything should be working as normal now.

The server ran out of space and is behind again. I'm looking into where all that space keeps going...

New experimental feature for the Catch Up On Follows feed just dropped. Go to feeds.mdruker.app if you want to have a few of the newest posts at the top of your feed before the feed digest section. (The default is 0.)

My database ran out of space, but now that it has enough space the server is behind on updates. Maybe it'll catch up. Let's hope it catches up.

The feed server got stuck on a bad subscription entry. I pushed a fix and it's moving again. It's behind by around 50 minutes and will take some time to catch up.

Reposts in the feed are back! Login at feeds.mdruker.app to set a percentage of your feed that you want to be the top reposts by accounts you follow

Thanks everyone for your interest! I'm still working on making the feed work well. Some things on my radar: -the first load is slow if you have a lot of follows -and... it might generally be slow if you have a _lot_ of follows -looking into some issues with updates to follows -adding replies, maybe

The feed should be a bit faster for those with longer following lists now

The good news is the feed seems to be handling new users fine. The bad news is my engagement metrics are wrong, so I may not be serving actually the most engaged posts. (Will try to fix it soon)

I bumped up the max following count to 30K, and fixed it so hopefully folks with a longer following list folks won't crash the feed 😅

The feed is now operating and the data seems to be consistent on the back end. Next up: some work on the actual content of the feed
