Be wary of those who insist on "debate" or "discussion" when someone's civil rights are on the table. There's no debate to be had; trans women are women, trans men are men, anyone with a uterus gets to decide what grows in it or not, and the state has no place in the bedrooms of consenting adults.

You will hear people say that you should not sacrifice a promising relationship just because someone says something inappropriate early on. That's true to an extent, but if someone shows you red flags of bigotry or abuse early on, that is not a promising relationship at all.

Whenever necessary, feel free to borrow my voice in your mind to encourage you throughout all of your challenges. I am proud of you and I know you can get through all of it.

Whenever someone is unkind to you, do something kind for yourself to counteract it both in your own heart and mind and in the wider world beyond.

I refuse to lie to you and pretend that everything worth having is easily obtained. Sometimes you have to put in some effort. Not all effort will pay off. As you've heard me say before in regards to winning and losing, that is life. But I believe in you nonetheless.

Communities thrive when people fill them with constant small acts of kindness towards each other.

The more you enforce your entirely reasonable boundaries, the easier it gets. I know it's initially quite difficult if you've been taught all your life to put the needs of others first, but I'm giving you firm permission to invest your energy in your own shields for a change.

It's all right to be a beginner at something. It's also all right to decide you're happy at that level and then move onto something else and be a beginner in that too. Trying new things does not come with a lifetime sentence.

No celebrity, no writer, no politician, no medical professional, no family member, nobody gets to dictate your identity to you but yourself. I, for one, entirely support you for the real you that you are today and however that identity changes or not as you learn and grow.

You are not required to be useful every moment of your life in order to be a valued member of your society.

If you have to convince someone to like you by altering who you are, they're not worth whatever scraps of affection you'll get out of such a forced, faux relationship.

You can't care for others endlessly, especially if you aren't also caring for yourself to at least some degree. Your needs matter as much as the needs of others. Find a balance that keeps you going and set reasonable boundaries around it.

We must always reach out to help those who are fleeing great peril, each of us to the best of our abilities, always without hesitation or prejudice.

Do not tolerate any unpleasant words or actions towards yourself that you would not tolerate being done or said to anyone else you care about. Your shields are there for a reason. Use them.

Take care to not side with those who find pleasure in cruelty, even with supposed justification. They will set their malicious focus on you eventually as well.

Running our warp drive at maximum constantly would damage the ship and the space we're sailing through. The same goes for you. You cannot operate at or above your maximum all the time. I give you permission to slow down.

Treat your failures as lessons learned and they will sting less.

If you worry that trying to be more confident will make you seem aggressive or arrogant, practice emulating confident people you admire amidst trusted friends who won't lie to you the way your anxiety does. Ask those friends for gentle but honest assessments, then learn and grow.
