Hello. Yume Nikki PS1 updates! Today I remembered how to animate... ๐ณ The Madotsuki is now fully rigged and has a cool walk animation. I'm also extremely proud of the "refuse to leave" animation. Animating braids is fun. Also, you can sit. And pinch your cheek.

I finally fixed Silent Hill's fog and will now use it in some scenes. It makes everything pretty atmospheric. :) I want to make skyboxes work later too, they're pretty important for the balcony, I think.

PS1 can produce speen effects. I was fixing some collision bugs today and then I realized that I've implemented a thing that would allow me to properly handle collision with objects which move and rotate. I'm quite shocked that it works so well, to be honest.

A historic moment... I bought a CD burner and now my game launches from the CD on a real PS1! I don't have a modchip, so I'm loading it using Unirom, also it takes a while for the CD drive to spin up... so skip to 00:41 if you just want to see the gameplay.

I did the vertex painting myself (the original file used Blender's dynamic lighting). I also had to work a lot to optimize the textures and fit everything into PS1 VRAM, but I still have quite a few tpages left! (especially proud of one atlas which has like 80% of the textures)
