Galloway Gravel 🤩🚴‍♀️ We've not quite woken up yet from our dreamy weekend up in Galloway forest, galloping around some of Scotland's finest gravel 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We had a gorgeous sunny weekend of gravel cycling through the forest, taking in the iconic Raiders Road and some excellent gravel climbs and descents.

The longest day! We celebrated the Summer Solstice on Thursday. Coming together as a Club to make the most of the long summer evening. After a ride out we sat down together for a fantastic meal and cold beers at The Cyclist (the spiritual home of The Rouleurs). What could be better?! ☀️

🎶 The hills are alive…. with the sound of chainwheels 🎶 Our first ever gravel “away” ride took us to Malton to explore the glorious Howardian Hills. The weather absolutely delivered - there was plenty of fun and laughter (and perhaps one or two nettle stings..) What a great way to see the world!

Safety is our top priority on club rides, so we’re investing in it more than ever. Today 12 members from across the Club completed an emergency first aid course. Literal life skills We hope it never needs to be used - but it’s so important to have the knowledge just in case Rouleurs Ride Together

Bank Holidays are made for a Club bike packing trip across the Yorkshire Dales. Am I right? As we say in Yorkshire, it was “bob on”. Which means it was pretty perfect! ❤️

Join us for our Thursday evening women’s ride. Setting off from the Liv Store on Monkgate at 6 o’clock tonight. We’ll also have a women’s ride on Saturday setting off from Cycle Heaven on Hospital Fields Road at 9. These have proved hugely popular - looks like we’ll have perfect weather for it.

Join us on May 10th for our Community Day. This is a day when we give back to our local area and support fantastic causes that make York a better place. We’ll be helping at the Murton and Osbaldwick Scout Hut - where we celebrated our 500th ride and 10th anniversary. Making it spick and span! 🤗

Today we said goodbye to John Pranczke - a great friend and huge character in our club. His daughter, Sophie, gave the perfect tribute - John was a true inspiration. He’ll be deeply missed by us all. John, it was a pleasure to know you - may you have a tailwind forever ❤️

Rocking out in Rotterdam! We had an awesome time this weekend on a Club trip to Rotterdam. Incredibly scenery, wonderful cycling infrastructure and such a warm welcome. Plus endless Stroopwaffel! Over 40 of the Club made the trip - now a key part of our Calendar. Can’t wait til next year!

So long Spin - we loved you well. We’ve had a great time on spin bikes this winter. After all winter miles make summer smiles. But that sunshine is calling…. time to say “au revoir” (not goodbye) to the spin bikes. We also say a big HELLO to Tuesday night outdoor Club Rides - starting next week!!

Ride the Rouleurs Way! We’ve been busy this winter with Rouleurs Ride School. A series of classes to improve our group riding skills. We’ve hit the books in the classroom with theory sessions and practical sessions with experienced coaches on a closed-road track. Winter miles for summer smiles!

We're launching York Rouleurs Group Riding School. During February and March, our @BritishCycling trained coach will lead classroom and practical sessions teaching the fundamentals of group riding. Free to all Club members - plus every attendee gets a Club bidon! Rouleurs Ride Together!

Skills to pay the bills! Huge shoutout to the fantastic Giant and York stores! They delivered a brilliant mechanical workshop to teach us how to fix things on the road. This practical, useful and fun session was perfect to keep our wheels spinning!

Winter spins for summer wins! We’ve been loving our weekly spin classes. Massive shout out to our coach Lucy who’d led these awesome sessions. Bring on the sunshine to we can see the benefits on the road!

Winter training has started! Tuesday saw the start of our weekly strength and conditioning sessions. Last night we had our first ever women’s spin class. Both will be a weekly club feature. Nothing beats the winter blues like working up a sweat! Roll on next year 😎
