In a historic moment, I was interviewed by fellow Black woman particle physicist Dr. Katrina Miller. Few people can understand my journey the way she does. We talked about my new book, why poetry matters, and yes, how the *fact* of non-trinary neutrinos challenges anti-trans rhetoric.

I wonder if people understand that for many of us the pride flag is not just an expression of queer identity it is a REJECTION OF THE CLOSET SPECIFICALLY. That is- its display is explicitly meant to COUNTER the conditions of queer invisibly, which has been at the heart of our marginalization. 1/

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate ā overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

It was transforming the biggest NFL stage in the world into a sugar cane plantation that did it for me. Like, the multiple layers of turning an American icon into a plantation and highlighting the history of exploitation of Black and Brown bodies by the NFL and American colonialism simultaneously?
