The CPB Votes Itself Out of Existence, Another Dark Moment In American History As its critics continue to celebrate its downfall, the Corporation of Public Broadcasting voted to dissolve the nonprofit organization that distributed federal funding to PBS, NPR and hundreds of public television and radio stations across the country for almost 60 years.
