I've been to this and it's absolutely tremendous. It's all based on fresh research, and uses a fabulously rich mix of artifacts, art and illustration, books, pamphlets etc. to tell its story. And it's in the beautiful Georgian House in Charlotte Square! Well worth the visit.

I have been taking Polaroids of my garden and the views from it and divided them into seasons - an ongoing project that started a few years ago and here are a few from Winter on the Pennines.

It was amazing, one of those opportunities that you just have to go with. I was fascinated by the bridge in those days. Also at that time there was quite a lot left of Wormit station, nearby. I also went over the bridge by train - you could open the windows then for a better view.

Ah, yes, I recognise where that is. I was invited into the signal box. I walked out along the bridge a little way, the signalman must have suggested it, I would never have asked. I think he said something like 'come back in a quarter of an hour' - a train due presumably.
