Loves Kansas City, books, education, and community service.
If the destruction of the East Wing of the White House doesn't break your heart, I worry about your love of America and our history.

My daughter just got her official acceptance to the University of Missouri Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. She has worked so hard and I’m so proud and excited for her.

The National Institutes of Health has dramatically changed its grant-making terms by limiting how much it will disperse for costs such as equipment and administration.

Today my daughter had her interview for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Mizzou. This has been her dream since she was six years old and she has worked so hard to reach this point. I am so incredibly proud of her.

A Kansas City story: I went to (now closed) Hickman Mills HS in Kansas City. In my 4 years, we lost one regular season football game. Every year when we hit post season, we ran up against Rockhurst High School. (1/3)

I walk around the house like the ghost of Christmas past turning off the overhead lights my home from college daughter leaves on. (No hard lights when there is a lit Christmas tree in every room but the bathrooms!)

My daughter is home from college for the holidays. I’m cozy sitting and reading in the glow of the Christmas lights. I’m listening to the low hum of chatter with spikes of laughter from the basement where she is hanging out with her boyfriend. So content.

I love my job supporting the University of Kansas at KU Endowment. However, as a mom of Mizzou senior, I’m excited that after a challenging week she gets to celebrate a win.
