Recently picked up this promotional VHS tape containing the Tomorrow Comes Today and Clint Eastwood music videos. Pretty much America’s first introduction to the world of Gorillaz. It’s always so weird seeing more modern animation on VHS since most of my library is from the early nineties.

Picked this up today - a former rental copy of Killer Instinct on the SNES! Video rental stores would cut up the original boxes and that’s what happened here. For $15, I absolutely cannot complain.

Last night was like a dream come true. Had an excellent time at the Plastic Beach show, couldn’t have asked for a better and more energetic night. Hoping tonight’s mystery show is good - I’m not going, but I had to pick up a shirt!

House of Kong. What can I even say? For half an hour, I was taken out of my world and transported to the utterly brilliant and deranged world of Gorillaz. It was all there, Kong Studios, the famous outfits, even Murdoc’s Winnebago. It was the ultimate love letter to the world’s most creative band.

For an hour and a half, I had died and ascended to heaven. Probably the best night of my entire life. Props to everyone in the Demon Days Live ‘25 crew for making tonight absolutely unforgettable. (And yes, Damon did play Happy Landfill live for the very first time!)

The instant I decide that the weather looks nice enough to take a walk through the park, it starts raining. As soon as I go inside, it stops. Never change, London.

I forgot how crazy early Nintendo Power could be.

In Donkey Kong Bananza, Pauline's idle animations evolve over the course of the game as she learns to be more comfortable around DK. In the beginning, she looks around worriedly. After Sublayer 300, she starts ruffling his hair, and after Sublayer 1400, starts tickling him.

Local game shop near me accidentally priced half of their Nintendo Power magazines at $5 a piece, so I got a bunch! I think I have enough “quality” reading for my flight tomorrow.

I can’t tell whether Fantasy Life i or Donkey Kong Bananza is my game of the year yet, but *man* is Fantasy Life good.

Just beat Donkey Kong Bananza. I had a feeling things were going to pivot this way and I’m glad that they did. This was the Donkey Kong game we’ve been waiting for! (I also completed it without upgrading my health - 4 hearts!)

Playing the demo for The Adventures of Elliot now. I’ve never been a fan of the “2D-HD” style after the umpteenth Octopath game used it, but this game right here is something special. If you’re a 2D Zelda fan like me, you might want to keep an eye out for this one next year.

I just noticed that the Mario Paint soundtrack on Nintendo Music definitely isn’t gamerip, it sounds like it was recorded from a real Super Famicom. You can hear some audio hiss in the background if you turn your volume up, especially at the start of the title screen track.

I stayed on the Splatoon 1 Nintendo Network servers for 68 days after they closed and ended up capturing the final news segment. Also, that one time in 2017 when the Splatoon Twitter account accidentally followed me for five minutes.
