I absolutely adore this @divinecomedyhq.bsky.social album. Gorgeous melodies, beautiful music, l just can't get enough of it. The vinyl has such a fantastic warm sound. It's been on repeat since its release with no signs of stopping anytime soon! just wish had a ticket for the Notts show tomorrow.

Typical that I've only just seen #JethroJuly on the 31st! I've been buying the remixed albums on LP since they first started reissuing them, but, as I've been on a Tull kick the last few months, I've started to get the book sets. They really are the gold standard for reissues.

I'm off down to London this weekend (sadly not to see Oasis) and have some time on Friday to go record shopping. Any recommendations are welcome as I'm hoping to go to some I've not been to before. Sister Ray and Reckless are definite as are Flashback and Rise Above but not sure which others....

Just back from a listening party for the new Pulp album 'More'. Shame some people felt the need to talk all the way through it but it still sounded superb. Can't wait to listen to it properly next week. Added bonus of some free swag and also Mark Webber being there!

Just finished reading 'Off the Ground, McCartney in the 1990s' and I must admit to being very disappointed. Maybe it was because I'd just finished the excellent 2nd vol of The McCartney Legacy but I was really looking forward to a deep dive into one of Maccas greatest decades, but this is not it.1/2

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard with Mild High Club 'Sketches of Brunswick East' This is the 3rd of 5 albums KGLW released in 2017 and probably my favourite out of the 5. They have a new album out soon (their 27th album in 13yrs. If the singles are anything to go by, it's going to be a belter.

Genesis Live at the Rainbow 1973. This was first released in the 90's when Peter Gabriel re-recorded some of his vocals for Supper's Ready. This is the same version as that just pressed to vinyl. Not sure how they've got away with releasing it as a bootleg but for £15 I'm definitely not complaining!

Now spinning Pink Floyd at Pompeii. It sounds mega and the vinyl is mostly quiet (apart from some of the very quiet sections) Gutted to have missed the cinema showings but hopefully it'll be on TV at some point.

Les Beatles '4 Garçons Dans Le Vent' I don't have a favourite Beatles album, but if I did it would probably be this one.

Currently playing this Jethro Tull @recordstoredayuk.bsky.social release. Only on side 1, but so far it's fantastic. Quite and flat, which is not always guaranteed with new vinyl but QC with the JT reissues has been top notch and this is no exception.

Anyone know if @thecoral.bsky.social B-sides is a Record Store Day first or exclusive? Trying to work out if I should pay inflated prices from horrible scalpers or hold out if it's getting a full release further down the line....

The Zombies 'Odessey and Oracle' As if releasing one of the greatest songs of the 1960s (She's Not There) wasn't enough, The Zombies also made one of the greatest albums of that decade too. Simply incredible LP from start to finish.

Got my copy of Venus and Mars half speed today. It's lovely & quiet (quite impressive when considering the rough cardboard inner). The drop in vol from V&M to Rockshow has gone and altogether it sounds great. Comparisons below with the UK original stickers (L) and new (R)

#nowspinning The Pretty Things 'SF Sorrow' I've been after this for ages & came across it in an indoor market in Walthamstowe. With 1st pressings so expensive, this is the next best option. A twofer issued in the mid 70s, it uses the same stampers as a 1st press but is a fraction of the price.

Apparently this is what some people on Discogs class as a NM record. The sleeve was listed as VG+ and that's also as accurate as the record grading. And of course the seller isn't responding to the message I sent asking to send it back for a refund 🙄

In July 1991, I got my first issue of The Beatles Monthly. Today for my 40th, I got No. 1 which completes my set of 1-321. I also got another of my 'bucket list items', the 'Run Devil Run' 7" box set. To make it extra special, this set came with a promo single of Run Devil Run b/w Blue Jean Bop.
