Amid all the world events in January, there were small things that I accomplished and enjoyed. I met a lot of new business owners and learned all the cool things they did! I took time to enjoy the wintry air (and curse it).

I have seen my fellow editors drop a wish list every so often (shoutout to Richelle Braswell) and decided to do the same! A few genres or topics I would love to collaborate on in Q1 and Q2 of this year: • A cozy TTRPG (solo or party) or a high fantasy TTRPG. • A family legacy cookbook (or two).

Time to head into my editing cave! Debuting the adorable art of Bri de Danann, I have joked that I am a snack and beverage goblin when I go into editing mode. Bri did an amazing job bringing that to life.

Somehow we completed another year. The last two months were a whirlwind right up until Christmas Day. Some of this past year's achievements and accomplishments: • Book Realm Revisions reached its eighth birthday. • Edited 879,578+ words for our amazing clients.

December was purposefully slow in preparation for the impending Holiday Season. After the frenzy that was November, it was a nice respite. I have all three of my gaming projects kicking into gear this month! I am eager to dive into these distinctly different systems and settings.🤩

I don't know WHEN I slept last month but I did. I swear. November was so jam-packed that I reached Thanksgiving completely out of breath and ready for some downtime. A question for my audience: What would you like to know about the art of worldbuilding? Most of my clients hire me for developmental or line editing. Both of these services entail working with fine tuning the big picture elements and finding a story's voice.

October was about taking a break. I filled my creative well with mountain views, family, & friends. I was lucky that Rachel Lapidow (@editrix-rachel.bsky.social) had time in her schedule to meet up for a pot of tea & muffins. We had a delightful conversation about editing & shopped at a local store.
