#SullySunday It’s the holiday season and Sully is giving a shoutout to PlayMonster in Beloit, where some of our favorite games and toys are made. From Five Crowns and 5 Second Rule to Farkle and classic Koosh toys, PlayMonster is all about fun that brings families together.

@briennebrown.bsky.social and I had the opportunity to tour Volk Field and learn more about the important work happening there. It was a great chance to see the operations firsthand and meet some of the dedicated people who keep things running smoothly.

I just wrapped up another Rulemaking Task Force meeting. Residents who testified in Winchester shared deep concerns about rising property taxes. When Republicans refuse to fund local governments and schools, property taxpayers are left paying the price.

Congratulations to Building A Safer Evansville (BASE) on winning the Homes for Heroes Community Impact Award! BASE, a local nonprofit focused on substance misuse prevention, mental health, and supporting youth in Evansville, was selected as the winner after a public vote.

Senator Mark Spreitzer and I had the opportunity to speak at a Wisconsin Student Government meeting hosted by Blackhawk Technical College. WSG brings together students from technical colleges across Wisconsin to connect, collaborate, and advocate for positive change.

Senator Spreitzer and I had the chance to speak with students from Beloit Memorial about our work in the State Capitol. As a BMHS graduate, it’s always fun to talk with current students about state government and hear their perspectives on today’s issues.

It was great having Chris Johnson from Classic Cinemas stop by my office. Classic Cinemas has been a fantastic part of Beloit’s community, and we had a great conversation about ways the legislature can support local movie theaters.

Congratulations to Chief Schonella Stewart on being sworn in as Beloit’s Police Chief! It was a wonderful ceremony, and I’m excited to see the positive impact her leadership will have on our community.

#SullySunday! Sully stopped by the Beloit Police Department to congratulate our new Police Chief, Schonella Stewart. The department has 93 staff, including 74 sworn officers, and handled nearly 50,000 calls for service in 2024.

Congratulations to Honey Hanson of Beloit on being honored at the Governor’s Outstanding Families Awards! Selected as one of just 10 families statewide, Honey was recognized for opening her heart and home to a young person who needed her warmth, positivity, and sense of community.

I’ve been informed that Jerry Gabrielatos is leaving his role as City Manager. Hiring Jerry was one of the last major decisions I made while on City Council, and I’ve truly appreciated getting to know and work with him in my role as State Representative.

#SullySunday at the Town of Beloit’s Town Hall & Fire Station! It has become a busy hub for town services, voting, and public safety and Sully was excited to check it out. He loves local government and enjoyed stopping by.

The Packers face the Vikings today, but 106 years ago they lost to the Fairies. In 1919 the Beloit Fairies shocked the undefeated Green Bay Packers with a 6–0 win, handing Green Bay their only loss of the season.

The newly dedicated Johnny Watts Court at Barkin Arena honors one of Beloit’s greatest athletes and a true Wisconsin trailblazer, and it was a fantastic ceremony that I was grateful to attend.

Senator Mark Spreitzer and I took part in a legislative roundtable with the Stateline Clean Air Coalition, where we had a great conversation about air quality, renewable energy, and the growing number of data centers in our region.

It was great to stop by the Beloit NAACP to give an update on what’s happening in the Capitol. I always appreciate the opportunity to join the oldest NAACP branch in Wisconsin!

I had the opportunity to testify on Assembly Bill 548, which creates a specialty license plate honoring veterans who received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. The bill has now unanimously passed out of committee.

I was able to attend a panel on youth homelessness in Janesville, hosted by Project 16:49. The panelists were incredibly inspiring as they shared their experiences and ideas to address the youth homelessness crisis.

I had the opportunity to attend the Fair Maps Coalition event in Evansville. People want politicians to represent them, not choose their voters. I appreciate all the work the Fair Maps Coalition has put into this important effort.

On this day, we honor the service of those who have worn the uniform to protect this country, its values, and our freedoms. We are forever grateful for your service. Thank you and Happy Veterans Day!

#SullySunday at Juanito’s Pizza in Beloit! It’s our first repeat stop. Sully had to support all the good they’ve done recently. They’ve given out nearly 400 pizzas and had bags of food donated to them for families in need. Support businesses that give back!

I had the opportunity to join a community conversation with families impacted by the child welfare system and appreciated hearing their experiences.

Yesterday, local leaders across the state joined Senator Mark Spreitzer and I to introduce a bill package that cuts restrictions on local governments and empowers them to make decisions that work for them. (1/5)

It was great to have the Legislative Black Caucus stop in Beloit for their statewide listening tour. Senator Mark Spreitzer and I joined them to hear concerns about redistricting, education, criminal justice, and support for Black businesses and farmers.

I had the opportunity to join Representatives Emerson and Phelps and @sensmith.bsky.social for a local government roundtable in Eau Claire. Whether it’s Sheboygan, Eau Claire, Beloit, or any other community, the message is clear: let local governments make their own choices.

#SullySunday at the Mary Lu Dooley Farm Conservation Area Sully soaked in the fall prairie views at this beautiful 95-acre conservation property. Mary Lu Dooley donated this land to Wisconsin to protect wildlife and keep it open for everyone to enjoy.

Danielle and I stopped by the Evansville Fire District’s Annual Spaghetti Dinner. We enjoyed some great food while supporting the department and the incredible first responders who keep our community safe.

Danielle and I had a great time at the 3rd Annual Orfordville Fall Fest! We tried some amazing chili during the cook-off and even got to see Orfordville Village President Dennis Burtness dressed as a scarecrow. It’s always fun to see the community come together for events like this.

Last Friday marked 100 days of Mercy East workers on strike. I was proud to stand with the UAW members who are fighting for a fair contract. Unions built the middle class, and their fight for fair wages and safe working conditions lifts all of us.
