Happy Veterans Day, Wisconsin! Today, we honor the sacrifices that veterans have made for our state and country. As the daughter of a Navy veteran, I am grateful for my father’s example of service. On behalf of our state, I share our sincere appreciation to all of our nation’s heroes.

Prior to today’s release of Wisconsin SNAP benefits, food pantries across Wisconsin have been working tirelessly to provide food to families and individuals facing food insecurity.

Today, I joined community members and leaders in Madison for their Hmong New Year celebration and to commemorate 50 years since many Hmong families first arrived in the U.S. It was a pleasure to see so many folks gathered, celebrating and giving thanks as we welcome a new year. 24 years ago, the attacks on 9/11 irrevocably changed the lives of so many across our nation and the world. Today we honor those who lost their lives, their loved ones, and the sacrifices made by first responders and everyday volunteers who risked everything for their community members and country.

Last night, I joined the Milwaukee community to kick off Mexican Fiesta weekend! It was fantastic to celebrate the incredible artists, vendors and organizers that put on this festival. It’s a wonderful weekend to be out in Milwaukee recognizing the valuable contributions of the Latino community.

Today we observe National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day to recognize the many Wisconsinites impacted by the opioid epidemic. Spreading awareness of fentanyl and the life-saving reversal drug naloxone is critical for our state. Let's take a moment today to remember those affected.

During my swing up north, I had the opportunity to stop by Menominee ECS to speak with Tribal Chairman Awonohopay and ECS staff about some of their innovative programming. The kids I met welcomed me with open arms (literally!) and were excited to show the group the projects they were working on.

Today I joined community leaders in West Allis today to speak to residents about the impacts of the recent flooding and how the community can help. I am so grateful to the community leaders, first responders, and neighbors who have worked tirelessly together as the Milwaukee area recovers.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity visit the River Source Family Center team with Senator Jeff Smith to discuss their work providing programs and resources for children, families, and domestic violence prevention.

Today, we remember the seven innocent lives lost 13 years ago in the horrific shooting at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple. This senseless act of violence and hate has no place in Wisconsin. My family and I are keeping everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts today. #RememberOakCreek

It's Wisconsin Cherry Season!🍒 I stopped by Soren's Valhalla Orchards, to speak with their ownership about their busy cherry season in Door County, their critical work, and how the state can further support the agricultural industry. I even had the opportunity to use a cherry shaker!

It was a pleasure to visit Our Neighbors' Place last week to hear more about their crucial work in providing support, shelter, and housing services in Pierce and St. Croix counties. They offer multiple critical services to assist with basic needs for families and individuals. Thank you!

Another incredible business in the Northwoods! I had the honor of visiting Copper Crow Distillery to hear more about their use of fermented dairy whey and their award-winning whey-fermented gin. They are also the first Native-owned distillery in the nation, and the first to operate on a reservation!

I visited the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters' Madison Training Center to see the great work being done in Wisconsin's carpentry industry. NCSRCC has created a program that offers a debt-free apprenticeship program where members can earn a living wage and benefits from day one.

Almost a year ago, I joined the Chippewa Falls community for the groundbreaking of Hope Village's new affordable housing site. Yesterday, I joined them again to officially open the new units! It was a pleasure to celebrate this community achievement and feel the passion for more affordable housing.

With more dairy farms than any other state, Wisconsin's 1.28 million dairy cows and the farmers that care for them are the foundation of #AmericasDairyland!

Ever wonder where your potatoes are from? Look no further! It is very likely your potatoes are from Heartland Farms in Hancock! I visited their incredible 27,000 acres last week to speak to owners about their production, prioritization of sustainability, and the state of agriculture in Wisconsin.

Happy 4th of July, Wisconsin! 🇺🇸 It was wonderful to join the Wauwatosa community for their annual 4th of July parade this morning. Even in a bit of rain, the community showed up to celebrate Independence Day!

This morning, the Wisconsin Supreme Court affirmed access to reproductive healthcare in our state, ensuring that women are making healthcare decisions for themselves. Today is a historic day - this decision provides medical freedoms for healthcare professionals, women, and families in Wisconsin.

On Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to join New Beginnings Aviation Ministry for their summer kick-off celebration at Timmerman Airport! It was fantastic to hear about the incredible aviation education and flight opportunities they offer to students and young adults in Milwaukee.

Happy #WorldRefugeeDay, Wisconsin! On this day, we honor the persistence refugees have shown in the face of hardships and obstacles. Our administration will continue to uplift these communities and the groups that serve them in Wisconsin.

Last Thursday, I joined the ceremony for Badger Boys State to speak to students about the importance of civic engagement and getting involved. It was wonderful to see the students become elected to the Badger Boys 51st state and hear the passion they have for public service. Thank you for having me!

We are a little over one week away from the USGA U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills Golf Course! I received a behind-the-scenes look at the great work being done to prepare the course. As folks will see on their TV's or in person next week, it looks beautiful and is ready to welcome fans from all over.

On this U.S. Armed Forces Day, we recognize and pay tribute to all those in unifrom who help protect our country, both in the past and present. Thank you for what you do and for the sacrifices you've made for our safety. #ArmedForcesDay

Republicans last week voted against: ❌ Making child care more affordable ❌ Ensuring paid family and medical leave ❌ Investing in apprenticeship and job training in high-need fields They voted against Wisconsin's working families. Period.

Started my morning right! On Tuesday, I joined students for the Menasha All-City Grade School Track & Field Wellness Day and had a blast meeting students and helping determine the winners of some of the events. This was a wonderful opportunity to get students active and outdoors! #MenashaHealthy

Today, Wisconsin's flags will be flown at half-staff to honor Hmong-Lao Veterans Day. We thank and recognize the thousands of Hmong-Lao veterans who sacrificed so much in fighting with the U.S. in the Vietnam War. Thank you all for your service.

Happy #NationalWomensCheckupDay! As a nurse, I know that early detection and preventative care saves lives, but we must take that step and schedule checkups and screenings. It is easy to forget to make appointments for yourself but today serves as a great reminder to make your health a priority.

It was wonderful to join community leaders in Wausau yesterday to discuss the many outdoor recreation initiatives they are working on in the community. Outdoor recreation is an $11.2 billion industry in our state and our administration’s budget is making the invesments it needs to thrive and expand.

Today is known as #DenimDay. It is a national day of awareness that encourages wearing denim as a protest against sexual assault and the stigma around victim-blaming, particularly a survivor's clothing. Today and every day, I stand with survivors of sexual assault in Wisconsin and beyond.
