On International Social Prescribing Day, McMaster Community Paramedicine Research team members joined the Hamilton Paramedic Service at the Red Cross Community Fair to showcase our joint collaboration on a social prescribing module within the CP@clinic program.

This qualitative study explored women’s access to contraception during incarceration in provincial correctional facilities in Ontario. A key finding was that participants expressed a desire for both access to contraception while incarcerated and education about contraceptive options. Learn more

This study identified the priorities of interest-holders for health surveillance of people incarcerated in Canada. It was found that the health care themes that were priorities for health surveillance were access, wait times, health care equivalence, preventive care, and medication administration.

This study evaluated the impact of Pallium Canada’s Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) Hospital course on physician attitudes, comfort and care delivery. Participants reported improved symptom and disease management, along with enhanced communication skills following the course.

This study found that successful transformation to team-based family medicine requires coordinated efforts such as funding, collaboration, and securing resources which ultimately lead to improved patient access, more efficient workflows, and fewer emergency department visits.
