When I was young, I was an old-school coach. I was a poor loser and was proud of it. I believed the best coaches were intolerant of losing.

Ways to gamify practice. 1) Create performance-level, game-like conditions in practice. 2) Compete! Keep score. Time things. Measure stuff. Record-Rank-Publish. (Poker played without money ain’t poker.) 3) Promote an atmosphere of cut-throat playfulness.
