#PretendPanel What I've drastically changed is to stop going back and editing as I go. It's a vicious, never-ending cycle. Now I write forward. Write faster. When I reach the end of the manuscript and return to the beginning, it presents as new & fresh, making the edits easier. #WritingCommunity

I use a real town, but I've taken liberties with making aspects of the town vague. Invented hotels, restaurants & shopping centers that don't exist. Vaguely described the probable location of a marina or bayou. Maybe it existed once. Maybe it will again. Maybe it's an alternate plane of existence.

I haven't come across anyone else that does this, but I go to sleep thinking about the next scene(s), and my subconscious writes it in my sleep. Then I wake up and write it all out. Sometimes scenes are out of order, but I write them anyway & file them away for later.
